Now, when this is an "indoor cycling" forum, are we allowed to discuss other bikes, indoor cycling programs etc?
Just want to clarify the scope, to avoid silly arguments about it later :?:

The description says indoor cycling and Spinning so I think any form of indoor cycling is fair game.

You are indeed correct ... indoor cycling on a kmart cycle, a real spinner, or a real bike on a stationary platform, even your kid's big-wheel in the living room - it's all good - :D

Excellent. No more harping about contraindications. I love it!

I'll harp about contraindications...I think most of the contraindications in our program make a ton of sense.
On the other hand, I think there are other great indoor bikes out there, and am happy to have a place where I can praise the Revmaster!!! :)

I am JGSI certified but I teach in a non-JGSI club. I must say that I like the freedom that affords me.
I agree that most of the Spin contraindications are well advised. But there are some I don't agree with. I find the program a little too restrictive.

Murphs,
Which ones do you find restrictive and why?

My friend after literally thousands of classes I must tell you that I have studied all the moves or what I call "KATAS" and I must tell you they work. Not just the physical movement but more the dicsipine to stay in the movement, that is the most work. I will ask you to do this: practice every movement 5000 to 10000 times and then come back and tell me it doesnt work. I will tell then and only then tell you that it did.....
Agree to disagree

Now that we are free to discuss this, please tell me what you like better aboutt eh revmaster. I have only tried it once. But a friend is about to buy a large number of bikes for a new spin studio and is considering the revmaster.
Thanks,
dc

I assume you're directing this to me, Billy. So let me respond this way. I am not the only person who doesn't believe in following the JGSI manual to the letter. Take a look at the recent thread "What's Up With Hand Positions" and you'll see what I mean.

Sorry... the post above under "Guest" is mine....
And by the way, I don't have to do something 5,000 to 10,000 times to know I like or don't like it.

I'm with murphs. I'm glad I have a Spinning certification, but glad to have the freedom to depart from some of the "must do's", the most obvious to me being the hand positions.
Riders and indoor cycles come in many shapes, sizes, and configurations. If one of my class members finds it most comfortable to ride in "unauthorized hand position 2.5" I find that AOK.

And you can do your "hoovers" without anyone telling you to stop! And you can affix mirrors (for better grooming, of course) to the handlebars, and a detachable hair dryer, and that sissy bar for your protection. Verrrrrry cool, Fabs
Fabs, you taking your show on the road any time soon?

Betha,
I musta learn more of this "swoooning" I feel that their screems of delighta are hurting poor Fabios ears -it kind of hurts poor Fabio- and they always run screaming with delighta and bring back those mangers to show what a great job Fabio does. And of course thos managers are always jealous of Fabio :x They say things like "You can not do that" and I say "yes I can too watch it is not hard" and I try to show them how and they stomp off because they can not do it like Fabio so I think it leads to bad feelings and they come back and say here is your check and we part and they are very nice to worry aboot Fabios Ba HA saying " don't let the door hit you in the buha on the way out" So this swooning will it help me with the managers jealousy?

Fabs, cutie, maybe if you give them some hair and grooming tips, as well as some fashion guidance and one-on-one cycling lessons they will not be so jealous and will share the luuuuuuv and harmony only you have been able to find with your Speanors?
Make it happen, Fabs! You're beautiful, baby - who loves ya?
