....sometimes I like to attend a class rather than teach, so that I can get a proper ride.
However, today's class was possibly the worst I have ever attended. During the class we did:
- push-ups on the handlebars
- jumps on one crank rotation/beat
- 'lock outs'
- were told to lean forward on the bars with our elbows to complete a climb
- were told to 'hover' over the saddle
- were encouraged to "spin" at 140+ rpm
- and to finish, the stretches were rushed at 7-10 seconds each, rather than 20+ secs.
...and that's all I can remember. No heart rate targets, although at one point the instructor did say "80% effort".
And I noticed one participant out of the saddle at one stage, leaning on the handlebars at very high cadence/ no resistance - and no guidance was given.
The worst thing though.....the class was packed.
Sorry about all that, I just needed to vent. :o
