I was in the infomercial for the in-home Spinning bike that was on (or is still on) cable channels a while back. I got a call last week from the production company who did the infomercial asking me about my weight loss, how much, how long did it take, etc. When I asked why they were calling me about it again, they told me they were taking the bike to the QVC. I didn't realize it was going to happen so fast! Johnny should expect to sell lots of bikes. Did anyone see that piece Dateline (or one of those shows) did on the QVC? Stuff flies out the window on that channel!

If you want plastic, and a 13 pound flywheel...
I was glad when they filmed my portion of the infomercial they aske dme to just do "recovery". I was afraid to stand up and do jumps. It didn't seem sturdy. But I did ask Medic (Rene) and Barry what they had them doing. Medic said he did jumps, climbs, etc. and felt fine. But then rumor also had it that Josh broke 3 of those bikes during filming. (That's a rumor I heard...)

So let me get this straight. They were asking for your testimonial on how much weight you lost, etc. based on group Spinning classes on a regular Spinner to be used to sell a home Spinner that you were afraid to stand up on because it didn't feel sturdy? Something sounds wrong here, or is it just me.

I just spoke to a friend of mine who saw the QVC show. Josh Taylor was the spokesperson. If he broke three of the bikes why would he be endorsing it on TV?
Oh, right, we live in the land of opportunity.

Last year at Miami WSSC when we were giving our testimonials that is how the production company decided to put me in the infomercial. I went out to LA last summer, not knowing what to expect, but sounded like fun. Shot the infomercial. IT WAS AN INFOMERCIAL FOR PETE'S SAKE! Need I say more? They never asked during production what I thought about the in-home version they were selling. The questions were always about the Spinning program, etc. not the bike itself. When I saw the final version of the infomercial of course everything I said was edited in a way that made it sound like THAT BIKE was what made me lose 120 pounds. None the less I still attribute the Spinning program for lots in my weight loss and efforts to have a healthy lifestyle. I don't regret being a part of the infomercial, it was fun, and I'm glad they invited me to take part in it. When the production called me last week I thought they were going to ask me to be a part of the QVC project.

Remember - I said it was a rumor.
Josh did not break 3 bikes. I was in the filming of the videos. Josh did not break 3 bikes. Got it?
Hey AC...not what Josh is telling everyone.....
Guest....I didn't say 3 bikes didn't break...I said Josh did not break them.

See this is how rumors get started.
BTW: When did the spot air on the QVC?

AC,
You were also at the informercial shooting. Did three bikes break? And if any bikes vroke, who broke them and why did they break?
AC,
Josh has told several people that he broke one of the bikes while he was teaching one of his classes for the video shoots. He also mentioned that some guy named Arnold also broke a couple of them.
Texasred, if it is a rumour then it was started by the horse...in this case, Josh.
It was me...I put 2 bikes out of commission because I am so huge the pedals could not bear to hold me. The third was bending as i rode it, but I toughed it out through the shoot, because in show business, the show must go on. I also cracked a lens on a closeup because I was hideous to look at also. I am never photographed usually closer than 10 or 15 yards away for this reason.
If Josh broke one, he did it without my knowledge. Either way, I defeated him in Bike Demolition Derby, 3-1.
In my audition for QVC I also was weraing a 10 karat Cibic zirconium ring, my Joan Rivers accessories, my Cindy Crawford warmup suit, but they hired Josh anyway. I should have shaved.

I guess after breaking 3 bikes you left an impression. Personally, I would have hired you just for wearing the Cindy Crawford suite alone. It takes a bold man to feel comfortable wearing women's clothes. :P

AC, great response - good to see you here too, by the way.
Perhaps if you'd been using your Susan Lucci products you would've fared better in front of the camera...just a thought
Now THIS is how rumors get squashed :)

I was at ECA today and observing one of Josh's rides (Riding the Course) and during the lecture portion he mentioned being on QVC and said it was an "experience".
