Just taking a poll. How many of you ride rollers as part of your training and what brand do you use?

Yes.
Kreitler. My recommendation, go for the model with the smaller (2 1/4") idler rollers. The smaller rollers give a little more resistance to pedal against than the larger, 3" rollers. Use the pressure in your tires to control resistance. Soft tires for more intensity, firm tires for an easier spin.
Hey Hammer...I've been riding rollers for a while, originally American Classics and now Tacx. They were inexpensive and I have ridden the crap out of them. One thing I like about the Tacx, they are easy to get started without any support. Just jump on the pedals and go. Best training ever....

Istarted rollers this winter because i just i had enough of these indoor spin bikes and the weighted fly wheel. i just came back from a 4 day ride in Moab Utah and wil tell you i have really noticed a diffeaance in my cycling since adding rollers this winters off season training. I use Krietlers and rtide them 2x per week started at 20 minutes now up to 1 hr and 15 minutes.

Hi H,
I dont know the brand name of my rollers but I love them to death. I teach classes with them sometimes especially on Endurane days like this sat I will ride 60 miles, 30 to my class and ride endurance class and ride home . They are the best tool in my arsenal for fitness indoors apart from the Spin bike.

Hi!
Last year I tried to ride the roller at the FIBO (http://www.fibo-messe.com/App/homepage.cfm?appname=100338&moduleid=766) (World Fair for Fitness, Wellness and Leisure, Germany). At first Johnny explained very much, not especially about riding the roller. But the things he told are very useful for the training on the roller. Later some of us had the opportunity to try riding on the roller. I took this chance, but it wasn't easy to stay on the roller. But after this first try I had one goal: to learn riding the roller.
Some weeks ago I tried again at my new roller (Tacx Sporttrack).
It's realy a very good practice for cycling on the road. But the last weeks a rode outdoors and I presume that my Tacx will rest in a corner since autum!!!

I use my rollers to stay in bike shape. I ride Technique rollers, Performance Bike Shop's brand. Rollers are great. I think they really helped my balance and pedal stroke.
I busted the cable on my rollers a few weeks ago after moving them. I have a stand that I use so that I can ride them like a trainer. I had the cable pinched between the drum and frame but didn't know it. It was like riding through mud. Any way, I had to take them to a cable fitter to have the cable replaced. Just an FYI in case any of you ever bust your cable
. Enjoy.!

OK, sorry about the duplicate posts above.....and I used to work in IT....scary, huh! Hope I'm not junking up your thread.....love to talk rollers though....ride on!
I love riding rollers. I use a set of the smaller diameter Kreitlers with their "killer" headwind unit. I find the rollers keep my brain engaged so that winter training isn't too depressing. Also great skill-building for bike handling. After rollers, the road feels amazingly sturdy...

Tried rollers once. Can anyone recommend a good drywaller and painter in the Sheboygan, Wisconsin area?

Cheeze,
I don't know any good contractors, but I would like to suggest a helmet the next time you try...By the way...Ask Jennifer how she dismounts the rollers...See you in Miami..
