I'm Sara...and if you don't already know how old I am, I'm not telling. But I don't feel or look my age, so I guess it's irrelevant.
I've been teaching Spinning for 4 years, love to ride outdoors (road and MTB) and live in southeastern Michigan in the suburbs of Detroit. My "real" job is in advertising and I get to travel a lot, so don't be surprised if I look some of you up and try to mooch a ride when I'm in your neck of the woods!
Glad Billy gave us this new place to hang out.
Sara
So if this is a new place to 'hang out' does this mean we will still be inundated with such rubbish, quips, put downs and political and bible bashing stuff that we were subjected to with the named above in the 'old' forums!
And some wonder why the 'other' forum was taken off the website!

Hi, I'm Cathy from the Washington, DC area. So glad to find this forum, being able to share music and ideas adds so much to my spinning classes and keeps it fresh for me as an instructor! When the other site went down I was in a state of shock until a friend and fellow instructor told me about this one! Somehow I was never able to post on the other site, some mix-up with passwords, etc. So, thanks to all of you for sharing your thoughts and music. We really have to stick together!!
I love spinning and yoga, I find it an awesome complement...the intensity of spinning and the strength and relaxation of yoga. I also am a personal trainer. I love helping people get back into shape and seeing that difference it makes in someone's life.
Cathy
I've been a Spinning instructor for a very short time. I believe in long walks on short piers, saying goodbye is more important than saying hello, and friends are very important, especially if they wear the same size clothes as you. I am very suspicious of people who smile at me for no reason and I always make sure to leave all 4 sections of the USA Today together when I discard the paper (I hate when the Sports or Entertainment sections are gone, especially if the paper was given out for free).
I believe in free speech especially when I get paid to speak about it. I know the Bible is very important, but I think we should also use the Thesaurus more and keep a Dictionary around everywhere. ESPN is the greatest invention ever, but why don't they let us just watch the highlights and not scream them at me? Since I'm from NJ, I place toll roads, car insurance companies, slow drivers, overpopulation and smooth jazz radio stations as things that the government needs to address. The only thing better than a day at the beach is the whole weekend.
Obviously I like Spinning and have a great time doing it. I have as much fun being involved in it now as I did 5+ years ago. So, unless I am kicked off of here, there will be quips and stuff from my demented evil mind.

I hope this community grows and I can be a part of it

Spinning is the biggest challenge for me personally because I thought I was in shape and I thought I had a huge tolerance for the AT but I do admit I wimp out at times. I'LL get there.

48 years old and very proud of it. instructed first class on april 7, 2004. 6th anniversary soon. never was an instructor before that day. what a fun ride it has been. had the good fortune of meeting Billy in LA in the summer of '98.
Fascinating man in his intensity. he was doing a tune up on a spinning bike that a member had brought to headquarters. had a little resistance on the bike, cranked up the rpm, then dismounted like it was an ejector seat. not for the faint of heart and please don't ever try this on your own. this guy knows what he is doing better than most. Many many thanks to the younger of the Mister G's for perpetuating the site. love the humor, try not to take oneself to seriously, and spread the word. exercise is good.

prescription instead of recipe
flat tire instead of wheel on the floor
humble instead of simple
I start teaching a year ago and I love it!, I stop worring about my accent, pronunciation and wrong words, they understand me and if they don´t they just watch and follow me.
