Climbs are easy to simulate indoors. I'll cue my riders to accelerate for intervals to simulate the need to add power on an uphill trail to get around or over obstacles or climb a steeper pitch. There are many other things to do.
But what's a (few) good, not contraindicated way to simulate flats or downhills? On a mtb, you need to keep the butt light, the weight balanced, concentration on, and smile on the face.
The best I can think of is a fast and/or slow cadence standing flat, and jumps. Any other good ideas to simulate gymnastics on an agile, thick-tired, rugged bike, while riding a very heavy, unmoving bike with a flywheel?
