Spaghetti is evil, the Spam of pasta. Fettucini is the One True Pasta.
Lynn
Does Angel Hair count as spaghetti? I love that one.
As long as it's whole wheat........
Sara, that recipe sounds fab - mind if I steal?

How about Al Dente brand spicy linguini with a little pureed tomato simmered with a bit of olive oil, fresh garlic and cream, mix in some fresh basil chopped up fine and then pour the whole mix over the spicy linguini for a "warm up your insides" post-ride dinner/lunch? And don't forget the fresh grated parmaggan-reggiano cheese.
Sara, how about you and I host a "Spin-and-Eat" session at WSSC Miami? We could be like Emeril on bikes, and then Cheese could add a little of his own flavor...with help from catfish of course.

well, if we're going to do that then I'll have to pull out my pasta tour de force, my linguine with white clam sauce...
...about 100 cloves of GAH-LICK (BAM!), some shallots, extra virgin olive oil, white wine, fresh parsley, fresh basil, lemon, minced clams and their juice (from the can) with a few fresh ones for garnish, over linguine...
i've been trying to watch my carb intake and really miss pasta!!!!

Spegetthis is Ok but I like palt better. It's a specialty from the north part of Sweden. But the only thing you can do after eating palt is take a nap. And one thing is sure you can't go to spinning after eating palt.

Pasta (whole weat) is the way to go! :P
Fry some fresh mushrooms, onions and Relish (some red peppersomethingmashmoosh). Throw in some cream (cooking), season and stir with the pasta.
Typo-mania here.. hmm.. sorry :)

Ps.
Want to make your own relish?? This is Aunt Annie's (dont know her) recipe.

Yup, this is a weird thread...
Okay, my Swedish friend, do tell: what is Palt? And, perhaps more important, what wine is best served with it?
Beth
Spaghetti cannot be fully appreciated unless consumed at room temperature chased by a 20 oz. bottle of Mountain Dew. Of course the Dew also has to be at room temperature.

Hi Beth
Palt is made of potatos and flour and filled with bacon. You eat them with butter and lingon berrys.
You should drink the whitest wine in the world , milk.
They taste good but you must be up in the north of Sweden to like them.
But as I said you can't do anything after eating them.

sounds like jewish "kreplach" which is like a big dumpling filled with meat...corned beef, usually. Obviously, never pork!!!
You can't do anything after you eat those, either!!!

Now you're talking my language Tom. Mountain Dew is like the finest of sorbets that clears the palet and sharpens the taste buds to receive the best pastas and finest sauces. IMHO Moutain Dew is best with a grilled cheese sandwich dipped in home made catsup (ala Mrs Cheeze). Don't forget to slid that pickle slice inside the bread. All that caffine gives one the energy to keep eating.
Ah my did God give me this weakness for Dew.

Some wierd postings of late: spaghetti & perkies. Spring is in the air!
The best dessert to follow up that spaghetti and room temperature Mountain Dew is peaches straight out of the can, and then you gotta chug the peach juice.
