Ok, since it is spring break here in Indiana, I'm having to cover alot of extra classes, so I'm a little tired, which might explain why tonight when I was teaching some newbies how to jump, I said,

" If you can't slide in and out smoothly you need to stop and take a break then try again."

I didn't realize how it sounded until the snickers started in the back of the room. (mostly guys in this class tonight)

Please tell me you've all done something similiar?

1. "It's Yours (I'm talking road here...): Take It Like ya want it, seated or standing."

2. "Don't make me get off this bike & grab your knob." Spoken to a couple of guys spinning WAAAAAAYYY to fast for the seated climb we were on.

We can make anything dirty, if our minds are far enough in the gutter!! (and I'm just as guilty ... )

I told my class once after referring to the "load" of power they had in their legs due to our hard work in previous classes:
"Now DROP THAT LOAD on those pedals!!!!"

Ugh.

 Tis is a good one!
The class is starting to climb, small seated hill to start with mid way through the hill were out of our seats, this hill is getting steep well, I start saying " harder, come on harder" in the mean time I'm breathing heavey into the mic, gosh it sounded like someone having a GOOD time, the class started to laugh,, I just kept on movin' and told them to get to moving.
I didn't relize until the hill was done and I was out of breath then i said "WOW that was good" then O lost it and started to laugh. Know that a joke in class, those poor newbies they don't know whta to think

We were in the middle of a seventeen minute climb and I was cueing for maximum relaxation when I said:

"I know you're working hard...and we are SO CLOSE, breath deeply and relax the cervix". (meant to say relax the cervical area). The women looked a little more comfortable (I think they actually relaxed), while the guys just looked confused. :?

Not related to spinning but I teach a ball calss and you can only imagine how easy it would be to have your mind in the gutter. I have said , early in my teaching of course :) " now grab your balls....." & "The blue balls are smaller and might be easier for you to handle" Oh my gosh... I was so embarasssed and just had to laugh out loud now I am sooooo careful. Beware of ther ball class.
Keep riding and looking up!

OK, was working the class through a 10 minute seated climb with heavy tension. I told them they should be feeling this is there quads. About 1/2 way through the hill, I said that I could feel it in my quads--and I sure hope they could feel it in my quads too!

I realized what I had said and started snickering and corrected myself. The odd thing was that no one seemed to notice except my husband who was in that class and told me afterwards that he sure wanted to feel it in my quads!

Thanks for the laughs--I'm feelin' better now.

In a class that was well-established (we'd become like friends and family) one night I was asking them to increase resistance.

Apparently ... I said "C'mon, make it hard, it's better when it's hard" ...

I didn't realize I'd said that until the front row busted out laughing ... they told me those were the words that came out of my mouth ....

This was a case of thinking of more than one thing at the same time (work out, get up and out) so that as I introduced class I said "I wanna get you worked up and . . .(then I thought to myself "why the heck did I just say that??)

Great thread!

I do drafting drills now and then, but I need to find a better way of describing what the lead rider is doing other than "breaking wind" . . .

There was one time I said something about being saddle sore after teaching 6 classes in 4 days...and it so happened that my husband was taking my class...

So when I said, "I'm glad there was a gel seat in the office...too much time in the saddle lately"...the guys all started 'high-fiving' my husband. :)
