Depending on where you live you may want to attend the Caribana Festival closest to you. Off the top of my head I know that New York, Miami and Montral and Toronto, Canada hold the festival. If you get a chance to spend a vacation abroad check out the months of July and August for Carnival season in Grenada, Antigua, Barbados, Jamaica (more reggae than calypso). In the month of February Trinidad is host to perhaps the best Carnival celebration in the world. In April St. Martin is the place to be and St. Lucia is the ticket in May.
