Ladies and Gents:
It's time to invest in a good bike stand. Anyone have a good recommendation for one? I want a GOOD QUALITY stand (not a cheap ass, lamo stand). Help?

Lori,

Park Tools manufacturers some nice GOOD QUALITY not cheap ass, lamo stands. I have a PCS-4 that I am very happy with

Hi lori just in case that you own an aluminum bike do not clamp on the cross tube or any other aluminum part of the bike with these type stands they can crush tubing. I own one and I agree that they are very good. Megale

Lori,

If you want a PRO mechanic stand, get one that clamps the bike at the bottom. The PROs don't use stand that clamp the seat post or the tubes of the bike. They ones they use camps the bike around the bottom bracket area and down the chainstays.

I guess Park makes one. These stands are definitely not your cheap ass ones.

Thanks Bill, Meg and Mad, for the excellent advice. Megale and Bill, since you both own one of these stands, does it allow you to clamp the bottom bracket area and down the chainstays, as Mad suggests?
thanks again,

Lori
