Know any good songs with dramatic tempo changes?

I'm talking about songs that start you on a hill, bring you to the summit, then shift into a screamin' downhill... or vice versa.

"Dream of Mirrors" by Iron Maiden is my favorite one.

I'm thinking Proud Mary by Tina Turner.

Murphs, a few come to mind (all rock, of course):

"Paradise City" - GnR;
"Paradise by the Dashboard Light" - Meatloaf
"Slither" - Velvet Revolver - has LOTS of tempo changes

I'm sure I can think of more, but I've taken off the last 6 weeks from spinning & I'm just now getting back into my music groove.

I've been using "Everybody wants to be a cat" from Aristocats. I'm using a Swedish rock version with a groupe called Black Ingvars. It starts as a standing hill and ends up in furios speed. I'm not shure about the original version but I hope you will find something like our version.

Salva mea - Faithless
some oldies:
Mr. Blue sky - ELO (start with running on a hill, at the end 30 seconds sprints on a hill than slow down)
99 Luftballons - Nena (be careful, the slow part is a little less than 60 bpm)

Bohemian Rhapsody (Queen)
Live and Let Die (I like the GnR cover version)
Take Me Out (franz ferdinand)
come sail away (styx)

For my fellow rockers, used this in class today with excellent results.

"Step Into the Light" by Dust for Life. Think Velvet Revolver's "Slither" - just as catchy.

Murphs, dc13, I think you 2 would be all over this! :D

A master class I had last weekend included "Should I Stay Or Should I Go?" by The Clash. I've GOT to get me a copy of that song.

Fethi???!!!!

Mon Dieu, mon ami! J'avais pensé que que tu es tombé du bout du monde (not sure if that expression translates well in French - "fell off the end of the earth! But you get the idea!).

So good to hear you're back!

Someone already posted Faithless "Salva Mea" - my absolute favorite for rolling hills - great tempo changes. And to boot, it's nice and long.

Also try Brainbug's Rock Your Body. It has two awesome tempo changes for two short steep hills that you can fly down afterwards.

Lots of trance songs have tempo changes, where they build and build (the climb), come to an apex (often with a slight hesitation - to signify the top of the hill) and then take off, as you scream downhill!

I heard from Clarien (spin-up) recently. She said she would be seeing Fethi in a few months and would ask him to dial us back up again. I got my hopes up too, when I saw this!!
