View Full Version : New Year's Spin
I am planning to do a theme based on new years, new beginnings, happiness, looking ahead, that kind of thing. I prefer rock (classic and new) and will also play up-tempo dance type songs.
I am looking for things beyond the obvious like U2- new years day.
Thanks!

Is Sting's "Brand New Day" too obvious?

I'm not sure if you could find it, but a PA based band, The Badlees, had some national exposure about 10 years ago. 3-4 years ago the lead guitarist put out a solo album under the band name The Cellarbirds. This would be an awesome guitar-driven climb under your theme.
"Starting Over Again" - The Cellarbirds
(I have the CD...not sure if it's available for download)
I've been trying to think of some others...........
"Right Now" - Van Halen (sort-of SIEZE THE MOMENT like)
"Let the Day Begin" - The Call
Raindrop - I actually am planning to use Brand New Day as my warm up!
Thanks.

Not rock, but more of an up-tempo club mix (I've used it for climbs):
(Reach up for the) Sunrise -- Duran Duran -- Remix
Lyrics include: "Reach up for the sunrise, let a new day, enter your life" ... "from this moment everything .. is born again" ....
(It's also got a beat and you can dance/spin to it .... )
