I understand there is a Mt. Shasta HillClimb event that involves bicycling the Everitt Memorial Highway from the 5th Season sporting goods store to the old Ski Bowl.. approx 14 mi. with about 4,100 ft elevation gain, average grade of 5.5% with sections at 7%. Haven't found any reports of finishing times. How long does it take the winner? How long does it take the pack? Are there any elevation profiles for the Everitt Memorial Highway?

One reporter says he thinks a John Waldrop was the coordinator for last year's race, but unfortunately, I don't have an email address. Another directs you to these web sites. Good luck and I hope this helps. -kimberly
