Afrocelts Seed was last years great album from a group that keeps amazing me with its continued freshness.
I have this album and I really like the very first song off the album called Cyberia 130 bpm it is 7:40 long and I found it awesome as a backgound to the "centering" of the ride. I used it as precurser/preview to the warmup and preperation for "flow" and then focus of the classes point. The vocals call out at even intervals yet it makes a smooth transition at it's dusk to go on with the transic or motivate to a higher level I found it very up lifting and very rideable. I give it 4 8) cool guys.
the second song -Seed is the title song to the album and is 110 bpm and again a long song at 6:25 and keeps the amazing warmth of rythem flowing .It can be described as motivating where there needs to be continuity of movement and flow. It has moments of capture and resembles a second wind that refreshes and makes for a great rebirth to a movement or zone work. And finally lets off easy as a great fade or blend into the next song. I give this song another 4 8)
third song -Nevermore follows the earilier with great rythems coming from this group but continues with the lower bpm at another 110. This song is a shorter and more normal 4:45. Vocals of male and female are laced through its moving melodies. I give this song 3 8)
4th song is a breath of fresh air The Other Side it comes crashing in with a more potent 146BPM. With chants, electronica, acoustic guitar and drums that weave their way through the faint sounds of kettle drums. I really like this as a great motivator to faster cadences and potential mind/body cues. I give this 4.5 8)
the 5th song has been broken into parts "A" and "B" total time is 7:33 with the first segment called Ayub's Song which I find as a good slow cool down and upper pyramid level. It runs into the part "B" called As You Were a song that has "River Dance" written all over it and actually picks up tempo. Because I wish they had placed "B" before "A", I gave this a 2.5 . 8)
song 6 called Rise is a real short, real slow prelude to song 7 called Rise Above It and starts picking up intensity with bongos and a string instrument that sounds like a mandolin and it makes a perfect flow area for a ride with 130 bpm it has a great rock push as it flys from the seat with sounds that I am almost say is a Bono/U2 vocals ( Mundy) and it lasts- if you like the songs that can get you into 4 or 5 changes in movements- at 10:13 long where its dusk slow to a blendable violin .This song has it all and I will give it my highest ranking of 5 8)
Song 8 called Deep Channel mixes electronica and a kit of drums excellently for a mind body moment as its fiddle plays as a child in a field of flowers. At 130 bpm it slams at 2:30 seconds in with a base guitar and fiddle combo that could bring you out of the seat to dance on those pedals. The whole song lasts 6:47 and gives you ample time to cue. I give this song a healthy 3.75 8) its very cool
Song 9 is called All Remains And this song is wild. It starts off with a acoustic trance like melody with harmonics then drops into a flow of rythem and reverberated singing I find it perfect as a cool down after a strong end and in that the title of the song is perfect it lasts 7:30 and is going to be on the next mix that I put together. I give it 4 8)
Song 10 is the instrumental version of the third song Nevermore called Green which they extended to 5:53 and long . It has a greater feel for a mind body flow which makes it more appealing without the voices I like it better so I rated this one a 4.25 8)
Overall this alblum rocks and as awhole I rated it a very respectable must have with 4.375 8)
I don't own any of the others so if this is a competition of which one to by first this is going to be hard to beat.
Have a great one Blue

I've ordered all 3!! I love the music from Collateral, so I'm very excited about it. The reviews on Pod are v. good, but wondered if anyone had it yet. Megale, I have Seed, and like you, love it, but I was asking about "Pod" (basically a remix CD which can be disappointing, but like I said, reviews on Amazon are pretty good.)

Hi, Janet -
I have the Afrocelt POD Cd and have used a few from it. While it is all remixes from the original albums, if you love the originals as I do you'll be happy with most of the tracks. They've added a solid, driving beat to the existing stuff...some is a little "dancey" for my taste, but I love what they've done with Eireann, Lagan and Rise Above and have used all three. A little techno-spin is done well with these, and the originals are always intact if you don't care for the remixes!
Have fun,
Beth
