Hey Pat - no... I didn't do Amstel Gold, have several other classics on my spring schedule though. Can you guys watch the Pro Tour classics in the States? It's rather exiting, with Boonen as newest hero, and with Di Luca who first won the Amstel Gold and also yesterday the 'Waalse Pijl'... Good for him, it will maybe make people forget about some of his past bad reputation..

How about good old Lance? I saw a recent picture of him and he does NOT look in shape yet... How do you see his chances for TDF? Is his announcement to quit after this just a smoke curtain or is Sheryl being pushy or is it really because of the kids? What's the idea?

OK, so far, your reporter from the netherlands!
ciao - Clarien

Generally we get about 90 minutes of highlights of the classics on Sunday afternoon. We'll get full coverage of the Tour de France, but we will be back to Sundays afternoon highlights for the Vuelta and the Giro. When I did PBP 2003, I was amazed at how much bicycle racing was on television.

According to one study, Americans tend to be very colloquial in their sports viewing. We would rather watch two mediocre local teams play each other, than watch the two best teams from the country (from other regions) play each other. Thus, as a whole, we will watch the Tour if an American is in contention.
