Ow! Of course, more seasoned pros have made the same mistake, most notably Erik Zabel last year (at Milan-San Remo?? Can't remember). But it's tragic when it happens....

There was a local race around here where the expected winner raised his arms too early (just as he apprached the line) and the second place guy just edged his wheel in front stealing the race.

That guy who was beat at the line never heard the end of that from his team.

Talk about embarrassing.
