View Full Version : Podcasts - Dance Department
I don't know how many of you are into listening to podcasts, but look on ITunes on the left menu for podcasts. They are mostly audio and free. I usually listen to weekly newscasts of the Sunday morning talk shows and a few radio broascasts commercial free.
I discovered this series called Dance Department. A host from Sweden or Holland review all the current dance cuts every week...If you have ever read about the software that I recommended called Replay-Music (ask PinK)...you can get a ton of stuff for free.
Ask away...luddites please sit this one out.

i'm a huge fan of podcasts; but i've not heart that one ... i'll be sure to check it out!
i've often thought of recording my own podcast for idc, but couldnt get around the music issue. there's a lot of royalty free music out there that's in the public domain, but could never do without chicane ;)

I've never bothered to search the podcasts before......this is great.
Now how does this softwear actually work.......can you choose the tracks you like even thought it's one long mixed thing?
I see there's a trial download. I guess the best thing is to use that, right?

OK.....so here's a Ludditious question (and I apologise!) When you're done with a podcast what do you do with it?
I'm not talking about the music stuff, more the NPR programmes etc. If you remove it, where does it go?
Can you get rid of this stuff from the computer leaving no trace that it was ever there?
I'm not going to be subscribing to the NPR stuff......listen for long enough and you'll hear it another 3 or 4 times whether you want to or not (not unlike The Archers or Desert Island Discs for the UK crowd!)....... but I'm just wondering about what if I'm tired of the stuff I download.
Vivienne......if these seem like dick questions, you should know that back in high school when we got *a* computer and were offered classes in how to use the darn thing, I opted not to bother 'cuz I didn't think they'd catch on.
Well...if you delete the Podcast from Itunes it goes into your recycle bin, where you have to go in and empty it at some point. Gone from the Trash Bin is gone especially if you run the Defragmentizer, then it's gone for eternity. When you delete from the IPod itself, it's gone.
Replay Music records from your sound card to an mp3 file on your PC, where you can do anything you want with it.
I get a collection of Podcasts every day for listening in the car. Politics, music, sports...all free and on demand.
I'm happy to answer any Q's...
