New Instructor who wants to introduce herself

Hello my name is Patty. I have been a Spinning enthusiast for a little over 2 years participating in an average of 4 - 5 classes a week. I've enjoyed this ride so much that after encouragement and support from my favorite Spin instructor (thanks Joy) I decided to become certified in November. I was not sure I wanted to teach or to just learn the inisde scoop on Spinning. After recently teaching my first 3 classes, I am now well aware of the difference between being a participant looking for a great workout and the instructor who is trying to create a great workout for the class. I am currently subbing for an instructor on maternity leave for the next 3 weeks and look forward to learning alot from the Spinning experts on these boards. I am married for 16 years and have no children, other then my 2 cats.

Welcome Patty! My journey into the world of instruction was the same as yours, only it took me a little longer. I was an avid rider from 5-6 years before I certified. Like you, it took some prodding by some favorite instructors. I've never looked back.

We are just getting situated here so, like it or not, you are part of the building team. Don't be shy about sharing your highs & lows because we've all been there and they help each of us grow.
