Do you have a export to portable device part of the menu? this is a new feature in MM that is on the Exspress versions of the soft ware starting with Ver 6 I have pro 6 and it is not there but the less valued version has it (imagine) look for it and enjoy (upper right hand corner of the window.)

If you export the completed profile as a WMA file you can pull it into the iPod easily and there it shows up as one nice long file. Sure if you could save them as tracks that would be cool but then you'd end up with duplicate files on the iPod.

Jean, I have MM Express version 5 (it's several yrs old), but here is what I do:

1. Once you make your playlist in MM, go to file, then drop down to export playlist to mixed file(s), then it opens a window that allows you to name the file (I type in what I call the profile), just below that I click on the save as type, it drops down and I choose the .wma instead of the .wav, because it's a smaller file and saves space on my ipod. Then click save. Then it starts to write the whole playlist, and says it's done exporting the file. Now it's sitting on your computer as one long song basically. Waiting for you to import it into itunes.

2. Open itunes library, go to file, then drop down to import, and it opens up your browser where you saved that playlist file you exported. Click on it and then click open. It will then bring the file into itunes library and you can then put it anywhere you want it.
I create folders for all my profiles and put them in one place.

Let me know if you understand all this. I know how challenging it can be to first figure out stuff, but once you get it right then you are on your way and it's a piece of cake! :)

Kelly did you know that in the new versions its just a click and it sends it there all wraped up with the file name and everything? I am pissed its not on my high priced version of the same offering.

i knew you would come throug for me!!!! thanks  i've got mm express 6 and it does have the direct export function to my ipod, which seems easy, but of course it wasn't  . i'm going to retry for my two classes on thurs and reread these notes. maybe i should really focus next time and not be fixing dinner, asking the kids their spelling words, and trying to export to my ipod....if we don't act like we need another arm, then evoloution will never provide us one, right? i'll let you know how round two goes...jmd :D

OMG!!!
Jean I was doing that EXACT same thing last week, too funny! Last Tues night I was at the 'puter, just finished mixing a ride in MM, was exporting it, while quizzing my 2nd grader on his spelling words for his Thurs test. I had a pot of pasta on (timing it), but didn't hear the stoopid timer go off!
Mushy noodles :( .
Luckily had another box of penne in the pantry. :)
I can guar-on-tee (as L2B says), that I'll probably do it again some day!
