I used it when I rented out my place, so I guess I have pretty good faith in its security

One caveat though - the fees they charge really add up :x

There are only fees when someone pays you via paypal. If you are paying someone through paypal there are no fees. It's a very valid company and I trust them, you do need to be very careful when paying that you select the correct form of payment. It will automatically default to your checking account that you have linked to it, so if you would rather pay via your credit card that is linked to it, you will need to select "other payment method" Also beware of fraudulant emails that will try to get your info. As long as they call you by your name and not "paypal customer" then it is a valid email from paypal and not someone else posing trying to get your money!

And there you have it...

Yes I know how to spend money

They charge 1.9-2.9% for each (non-professional) transaction. For me that meant I had to charge the person a slightly higher rent than what was due in order for me to get full payment.

i've actually used it quite alot, and for quite a few years ... for ebay auctions, (both as buyer and seller.) And other transactions as well. i agree with Moonie, i consider it to be very safe.

It's the most widely used and accepted form of payments and exchange on the busiest commerce website (EBay). I use it and find it completely safe.

I would actually trust it more than a str8 card transaction because of the appeal process they have.

I use it all the time and I've never had a problem with it. You pay no fees to purchase things using it but Ibelieve there are fees for using it to recieve funds, understandably.
