This is the worst movie I have watched in while. It is a mess of self indulgent actors. Kirsten Dunst plaing a disgruntled actress who gets crappy reviews for her singing. And her singing was, as Simon would say, just ghastly.

The climax of the movie is Spiderman battling 2 super powered villians and they end up apologizing after the battle to each other. WTF? I was waiting for Barney the Dinosaur to walk in and start summarizing the lesson in conflict resolution for all the 4th graders in the audience. The problem was that the 4th graders were laughing at the premise and they want to see Spiderman kick someone's ass, not negotiate a multilateral accord among comic book enemies.

Your kids won't even like this.

I've heard several other reviews about this movie as well. They are pretty much up the same alley as what you say here, ACE.

Thanks for the warning!

I liked how the meteor with the black symbiotic blob just happened to crash into the park next to Spiderman, and nobody noticed it. Must have had a built in silencer. Then the way it just stalked him for half the movie without being noticed...

Sorry, but mine did and so did I. :D
We just got home from it 30 min ago, my almost 3rd grader treated me to the movie today for a Mother's Day present. Just me and him, and we enjoyed every minute of it.
The special effects were the bomb (as my son says).

What I loved more than even the special effects was the lessons taught about how we all have choices to make and all our choices have consequences. That wasn't lost on my son, especially since I was there watching it with him and talked to him about it.
Peter learned that although he got a great thrill (temporarily) from the black suit, it costs him who he really is. Harry makes a choices too, those chocies at first are bad and hurt Peter and MJ's relationship, then when he learns to forgive he risks his life for Peter and MJ.
I thought the ending was fantastic actually.

Everyone has an opinion (isn't that great?), so this mom and kid give it a big thumbs up! :D

I guess I'll wait until it comes out on video, but my kids and I are definitely going to Shrek 3 bad reviews or not.

I should have qualified it to no one above a second grader would actually be entertained. And if you go to a Spiderman movie for lessons in confrontation management, the franchise will be soon dead. Or, Spidey might as well just go right on to Sesame Street, or as I pointed out, interview for the opening left by Barney the Dinosaur (I loveyou, you love me). Someone page Dr. Octopus...there are still issues left unspoken.

Better yet...someone page Rod Serling...I'd like my 2 hours back.

I haven't seen the movie yet but I can tell you this, if I went to see it with my little boy, I would be able to see it through his eyes and enjoy every last minute of it, too. My nineteen year old son thought it was terrible, but he, as well as AC had the disadvantage of only seeing it through one set of eyes.

I couldn't agree with AC more. My friend and I almost walked out at least 3 times during the movie. Steer clear of this train wreck.

In my opinion ... my husband fell asleep ... the 3 girls we took 15, 12, 9 didn't like it either ... the audience was laughing and making fun thru most of the long drawn out snoozer!

Saw it with my daughter this weekend. Not to good. They tried to fit too much into the story line. I guess how I could see how little kids would like it though. But for adults it was a mess.
