Okay...I bought road bike sandals. I hate to wear socks and I hate to wear shoes. I have noticed cyclists wearing the sandals. So I broke down and bought a pair.
I wore them to class yesterday and got a lot of cracks! Everyone made comments about how goofy they look.
Okay, so are they goofy and not up to the code of cool cyclist wear?
Let me know before they look too worn to return. : :?

The only thing I would caution - when I had my accident, I sheered off part of my Sidi shoe.

Do whatever floats your boat. Your Boats I mean. Do you wear them outside too? If so, are you riding a road bike? I never see people in these parts wearing sandals. And I would agree with Pink if you go down, it may not be pretty. Serious toe road rash!

Like pink says if you are going for a ride around town not so "on it" then fine they are great ( I can see me beach cruisin with a pair) but if you plan to go out with the gang and do some "tearin it up" get the shoes back on.

Inside ride = Wear them
Outside ride = No way, just for safety's sake.
Now, if you are just wearing them indoors and people are ribbing you about them then I'd just grin and keep wearing them. You're a trendsetter!

The group I ride with outside wear them. They love 'em I think they got started wearing them the year they rode in the Ragbrie(spelling?)
I asked that exact question about my toes and feet getting scrapped. They just shrugged. They are hard core, no wussy riders. So I guess they don't care if they wreck and hurt their feet.
I wore them today outside and I was freezing my toes off. So I will keep a better eye on the weather when I wear them next time.

I've had my Shimano sandals for a few yrs now, I wear them when I ride on my Spinner in the house. Never wear them outside, and tried to wear them over a year ago on the NXTs at work, but had a difficult time clipping in and out and never wore them in class again, maybe it was because the bikes were new then? Don't know.

The sandles don't look goofy, it's the tan lines they create that are rather ammusing.
