Hi everyone. Love this site! Thank you Megale for the heads up. I am having my audition this Thursday and I am nervous. Any helpful hints or advice would be great and much appreciated. There is some terminology I don't understand. Such as, SEZ, RWR and JOH.
Thank you
Mishell

Hi Toothfairy, welcome!
SEZ = Strength Energy Zone
RWR = Running with resistance
JOH = Jumps on a hill
I hope that helps. :)

Yes it does! I thought I had the JOH, but needed to be 100%.
Thanks again!
Welcome Mishell. First off, congrats & good luck on your upcoming audition! Just want to make sure on one thing -- the abbreviation lingo is something we use amongst ourselves, we wouldn't use it in class with students.
A few other ideas regarding your audition.
1. Be prepared! Know your profile & music well. Have a little cheat-sheet in case you become nervous and forget.
2. Arrive early and familiarize yourself with the sound system & room set-up.
3. Keep it simple. Coach what needs to be coached and don't allow nerves to cause you to chatter.
4. Most important -- try to relax & have fun.

Hi Mishell and welcome! Great advice given here so far!
Practice practice and practice again. That's the best advice I can give. This will give you the confidence you need to help get those jitters to calm. If you know your stuff, you can walk in there with confidence in your ability to present your profile.
If there is any way to get into the studio prior to your audition to practice with the sound system, mic and get to know the set-up of the room, lighting, fans, I would definitely ask if you can do so. I did that before I taught my first class--even brought my husband with me so I had one student to practice on--and it helped!
Once you get started, your nerves will calm. Go with the flow & don't talk too much (silence is hard to get used to but it's sooooo important in spinning in order to allow your participants to get into their own ride).
Please let us know how it goes--I think you're going to do GREAT!
GOOD LUCK!

Hey Mishell, my friends have got your back there with great tips and advice.
Just want to wish you well, let us know how you do. Several of us will get back next week, so don't worry if we don't respond right away to you. In fact, I better get my butt in gear. Still have to do some last minute organizing! :shock:
