Can someone refresh my rusty memory (saw it somehwere on this site) about the "Cycling Bible" and who wrote it. I should have written it down. Didn't. There you have it. Thanks in advance.....

Hope I didn't force you to buy it from Amazon, I like to check with the library first or borrow one from a friend (and never return it,, j/k)

Normally I do as well. However, we are getting ready to move and time is a precious commodity right now. Thanks again for your assistance.

BTW, when I am done reading the book....you can borrow it.

I am reading the "Training Bible" and it is great. It is geared toward professional cyclists, of course, but I have already found lots of useful info.

Joe Friel has a great writing style; more conversationally than lecture. He has 10 Commandments that are absolute cornerstone to any kind of training. He has a great attitude toward resting; moderation in training; training smart not hard, etc.

This is the 3rd edition from 2003. I would be happy to lend it out when I am done. I like to share info and resources of this calibre.

I don't know the book rating system on this forum so I will go with three out of three smilies.:grin::grin:

I find this book valuable and feel it is geared toward the serious cyclist who likes to race but not necessarily a professional cyclist (they have coaches and probably don't read about it). Although, you can take away a lot of the information and tailor your own program.

I find it very usefull in planning my seasonal goals. Then I try to stay as close to my program as possible. It is amazing when you periodize.

I only race two to five times each year depending on other committments, but the training goes on for each of those periods and scheduled dates whether I'm make the race or not.

Just PM me with the necessary address and the second I am done reading and then illegally copy the good pages, I will pass it along like the ugly tie at Christmas. Just kidding, it is way better than an ugly tie. :D

First come, first send.

No way!!!:D It is kept in my library of "Better keep this one for reference".

Unfortunately or fortunately, this library is getting quite large and I'm running out of room to store great resources like this.

Kathleen promised that I could read it after she finished, considering she need a referral to find the book in the first place. I will get it back to her....eventually.

Actually, I was going to suggest you wait and give it to me in person at WSSC, that way you save on postage :D. Also it give me time to finish reading The Secret.

And what is "The Secret?"

And what is "The Secret?"

BTW, WSSC is fine to pass along the book. The Secret is a book that focuses on the power of positive thinking. Jennifer Sage's "Moving Mountains" ride incorporates principles from the book.

So are you done with The Secret yet? If so, what do you think of the book?

I'm reading it slowly, it's great because you can pick it up and put it down easily. I always put the book down feeling great and energized.
