Hey STAR 3 Folks:

I see several questions on STAR 3 exam which relate to Spintensity and heart rate and monitors. I think I know enough to answer them correctly, however, would I benefit from taking the Spintensity workshop first?

I plan on attending the workshop in OH in October. Or is there a resource that would help me answer the questions on the STAR 3? I am definitely attending the workshop but I would like to have the STAR done by then.

Feel free to give me your opinions, facts, experiences, etc. that's why I am asking.

If I am not mistaken, I think you are required to take Spintensity before taking the STAR 3 exam.

It's either Spintensity OR the Periodization home study/online course. There wasn't a Spintensity workshop near me and I really wanted to do Star 3 and not wait till fall for the next workshop so I did the home study. It's essentially the same thing and it gave me what I needed to pass Star 3!

If you can take Spintensity and not wait to long to do so I would. I did and I went home that night took the test and passed:D. I had already taken the Periodization home study, but felt I need to have some face time with and IM on some of this stuff.

Thank you ladies. I appreciate your responses. The STAR 3 description does not make it clear you have to take Spintensity; it says there is test material from it. I have to remind myself it is an exam, not a race, so I will wait until after the workshop in OH. Thanks much.
