So, I'm having a problem. I'm trying to develop a split symbol profile - Love the idea. The problem I'm having is finding music to fit the profile I've created. Strength profile: seated hill/standing hill/hill jumps/running w/resistence/seated hill etc. Any suggestions? Should I be stringing several hill pace songs bracketed by seated flat paced songs? I'm at a complete loss.
Thanks!

Hi Sara,
As you know, in a Strength Class we are climbing the entire time (although there is, of course, recovery but it's done on a "hill."). In the Spinning program, an SEZ profile will be one with 60, 70, and 80 RPMs. I'm not sure if I understand correctly what you are asking, but if you are asking for some good climbing songs (anything that will inspire 60, 70 or 80 RPMs), I have listed some for you. If that's not helpful, please expand more on your thoughts so we can be of more assistance.
Return to Jerico--Asian Dub Foundation (good 60 RPM, heavy climb)
Mad World-Tears for Fears (good JOH song, approx at 70 RPMs)
Rods and Cones (good aggressive seated or standing climb or mixture of both--80 RPMs)
Release it (Instrumental)--Afro Celt Sound System (great climbing song for any position--approx 60 RPMs--song is 6:32 in length so all three climbing positions could be done).
Am I on the right track of what you are asking?

Rods and Cones is one of my favorite songs however, I've overused it. I've never heard the others (except Tears for Fears). Thank you for the suggestions. Yes, I was looking for climbing songs.

I'm using Rods and Cones in a profile for next week. I used it in the warmup.

Hi Sara,
I'll give you a few (or more ;)) songs that I've personally used to help inspire me and my riders in class to climb. May I suggest though, that you listen for the energy that the song gives out to help you decide "where" to plunk it into the profile. Some of these songs encourage me to ride relaxed, some help get me out of the saddle with more urgency, and others just make me dig in seated. But that's just me, what does the song say to you?
Here's a few to chew on:
The Nazarean.....Genetica
Feel the Beat (Robbie Rivera's Tribal Session Mix)....Darude
Somebody's Sunglasses....Cheekyboy
My Tribe...Russ Landeau

Sheesh Kelly - thanks! I'm printing your list if you don't mind! I knew the two-moves-in-one-song thing was going to hitch me. At the last minute I put together some songs with one of the split symbol rides in the SIM and got lots of compliments on it.
Thanks again!

Sara...do you use Mixmeister? If you don't then, seriouly think about getting it to mix your profile. It will make a HUGE difference. You will then just think of and hear your profile as one beautiful, continous, flowing road!
If you need help, check out the MM thread, plus there are plenty of MM experts, techno dudes and dudettes on the forum.
