What happens to threads/posts?

Hey all! I was just wondering why certain threads disappear after a short time and other ones stay. Does it depend on the number of posts, the date of the last post... just wondering. I've noticed a couple of threads are gone that I just looked at two days ago! I'm new at navigating this site, so fill me in.:)

when you open a forum, the bottom of the page you'll see options for how and what to display ... give those a look, and a quick tweek, and the posts should appear :)

Thanks Yvonne- Talk about a "Duh" moment. The options were right there in front of me. I guess I need to spend some time navigating the site and figuring out all these "tweaks." I'll go hide now for a couple of days...
