Hi All:

Here's Monica's Looping Strength Profile that she posted yesterday. I put it in my Excel format and created an Elevation Profile for it.

I rode the profile an hour ago and it was much enjoyed by the class and myself alike. I averaged 159 which is about 82% for me...I felt it afterward too...a good feeling...

Thanks again, Monica, for the ride!

:) PS

P.S. If anyone wants a copy of the CD and ride sent to them...just send me a SASE with enough postage for 2 CDs and about 8 sheets of paper to:

Patrick Schutte
786 Norris Road
Prescott, AZ 86305

(I suggest taking an 11 x 13 envlelope and mailing a 9 x 12 envelope inside of it...that way I don't have to fold the elevation profiles into CD sized pieces...I'll put the CDs between some cardstock. Or mail me a CD cover with a music Cd in it (hint, hint))

And I'll send it to you. Please note which ride you are requesting.

Note: Attachments are not evil....You won't catch a virus or suffer any serious injuries if you click on any of the files below. They allow people to transmit information in a manner than ascii fails miserably at.

You'll see a couple of different formats of the profile attached:

XLS - this is the original Excel file. If you have Excel, then you can edit or print this out in high-res. To see the Spinning symbols show up, you'll need the spinning.ttf font.

You can get the font here: http://www.investinprescott.com/spin...s/spinning.ttf

Right click on the link above and save this file in your c:\windows\fonts directory.

PDF -You'l need Adobe Acrobat Reader to see this file: http://www.adobe.com/products/acrobat/readstep2.html

Wow, Patrick, thanks alot!!! I write my profiles out on index cards, using sharpies and they're very organized and always there for me to glance at, but this, this is taking it up a notch. I'm honored that you would do this with one of my profiles. Thank you, thank you, Patrick. :):):)

The index card method is a sure bet!

I like to do them on the computer because I type fast and I write sloppy...plus I sweat so much on the paper, I usually just throw out the profile and print it again...

Keep them coming!

You got a good Interval Energy Zone ride?

;) PS

I use the 3x5 card method also -- but I laminate them by covering them with wide clear packing tape. I type up the playlist and put it on the back -- also covering it with tape.

Neither forum likes cut and paste from Excel it seems.
Hey, what's the secret to keeping formatting on the playlists? When I cut and paste my playlists, they lose their formatting? Any tricks? Thanks, :) PS

Once printed I put them in the plastic 3ring binder holders from Staples... the sweat just drips to the floor! :o

I just bought some Job order holders to do the same...I like to fold them in half though and flip them around...during the ride...it's no problem thowing them away though...I have only repeated one profile in the last 3 months, so not a lot of waste going on...

Thanks for all the ideas...

I have them printed on 8 1/2 x 11 and use the plastic 3ring binder holder too. We have a table that sits right next to the bike so I just glance over and read my notes.

Shannon, when you get my age you will need to make sure that table is a bit closer to your eyes then when it is presently... in the last year it has really gotten bad.. sigh what a pain when the light is low in the spinroom! :oI have them printed on 8 1/2 x 11 and use the plastic 3ring binder holder too. Shannon me too! My binder is getting heavy! During class, I use a music stand that I place my pages on, to the right of my spinning bike. Works like a charm!

Patrick, I don't know if you checked out the Time Ladder that I posted, but I've used that particular Interval class for many, many different classes at two different clubs and everyone always seems to love it. It moves so smoothly and quickly and when you start with the 30 seconds it's a great way to warm up, when you end with the 30 seconds it's a completely different feeling. I absolutely love it. You can hit V02 Max six times, it's sure to become a favorite for you and your classes. I'm going to try to explain it a little better than I did the first time.

Seated Flat, warm up :30 HR 65%
Seated Flat, add gear :30 HR 70%
Standing Flat, add gear :30 HR 75%
Seated Climb, load it :30 HR 80%
Standing Climb, load it more :30 (after 10 seconds, break away and slide into the saddle for a pedal acceleration; cadence is 80 HR is 85% - 92% MHR)
Flat road recovery 1:00
_____________________________________________

Seated Flat, low gear 1:00 HR 65%
Seated Flat, add a gear 1:00 HR 70%
Standing Flat, add another gear 1:00 HR 75%
Seated Climb, load it 1:00 HR 80%
Standing Climb, load it more 1:00 HR 85% (for the last 20 seconds, break away and slide into the saddle for a pedal acceleration; cadence is 80, HR is 92% MHR)
Flat Road recovery 2:00
_____________________________________________

Seated Flat, low gear 2:00 HR 65%
Seated Flat, add a gear 2:00 HR 70%
Standing Flat, add another gear 2:00 HR 75%
Seated Climb, load it 2:00 HR 80%
Standing Climb, load it more 2:00 HR 85% (for the last 20 seconds, break away and slike into the saddle for a pedal acceleratin; cadence is 80, HR is 92% MHR)
Flat Road recovery 4:00
____________________________________________

You've reached the top of your ladder. It's time to take it back down, starting with the 2:00s, then through the 1:00s and finally ending with the :30s.

Hi all:

I was really bugged by the two page format for a repeat ride, so I changed it to a one pager that coud be used with any 3peat ride.

Enjoy.
