Hi All:
After spending all weekend under my desk putting in a new computer...I thought I'd share my new DJ PD studio set up with you.
I've got the new 24" vertical monitor (1920 x 1200) running my "work" computer, Office, Photoshop, etc., and then I've got my game/music computer with 2 20" flatscreen/TVs running at (1280 x 1024).
This allows for great productivity! With the two monitors on my music computer, it's a snap to drag and drop tunes between iTunes and Mixmeister...if you've not looked into the benefits of dual monitors...look online at some of the productivity gains...45% or more they estimate. I've put my uncle on two monitors and he says that he would never go back after telling me what an extravagance it is...
Any way, happy mixing and meisting!
:) PS

NORAD...no, but I did sleep at a Holiday Inn Express last night.. <gr>
I was in the Computer Aided Design (CAD) industry for many years though...it got me used to seeing big monitors...back in the 80s a 20" Mitsubishi monitor was about $2200, now you can get the 3 monitors on my desk for about $1000...for 4x more monitor real estate
MORE SCREEN MORE SCREEN MORE SCREEN...start repeating this mantra until your significant other lets you go buy some...

I do CAD right now (SolidWorks). I work of two monitors here at the plant and at home I have a 29 inch Dell flat screen that I use as a monitor. I have duel processor running the mess at home and it helps with multiple apps running at the same time.

Not to be outdone!!! ;)
I've already told my wife that I'm going to get another 24" vertical and put them side by side...that would be a cool 3840 x 2400 of desk space...
I really love the vertical monitor!!! Makes editing documents so much easier on the eyes and very little scrolling to do. And with two of them, I'll be a multitasking fool. (more of one).
Glad to find other geeks out there...Solidworks was our arch enemy when I was at Autodesk, but I had lots of friends over there too...that industry is pretty small...
Thanks for sharing!

I really think that if you want a top of the line gig you need top of the line stuff to present with. I can remember when a CD burner was awesome and no rewinding tapes! Now its MP3 players, Sony Acid/Mixmesiter and Dual processors with Goliath monitors. I am afraid these days its a shortfall from the top to the bottom. Stay connected and informed on the cutting edge. I am sure that someday though( I can't even keep my stomach together thinking about it )that I will have electric dérailleurs. Please make it a battery that is charged with sunlight.

You don't need electric derailleurs if you have a single speed!
