I was there for per-conference only. I went for the Yoga Fit Cert. I had a great time. Many of my co-workers went and the ranted and raved! Only one spent a lot of time in the SPIN room. I didn't get a chance to ask her what she thought. I will see her this Sunday and will be sure to get the details.

Abby - how'd you like the yogafit cert? I've gone through levels I & II and loved it. I'm aiming for LIII next year.

I really enjoyed it. I felt like it was well thought out and well presented. I wish I had more time right now to spend on it, but I just did the BodyPump training and I am hyper-focused on getting ready to tape for my full Certification that I have to send to them by 10/8/07. Then I hope to spend some time on my Yoga practice and teaching.

I'm hi-jacking, I know; bad, bad Monica but.... How do you go about filming yourself teaching a class? I'm assuming you have to own your own video recorder. My head is just spinning every time I think about getting certified to teach BodyPump. It sounds so complicated but I want it! So I'm just going to bug you to death, Abby :p.

You are way too Funny girlfriend!!!!:D
You don't have to own your own camera but it is helpful. You have the advantage because the club you are teaching at already offers BODYPUMP. Once you get through the training you will be able to co-teach right away. You will have real class time right from the get go. Our club dosen't even offer BODYPUMP yet. So right now I am reliant on our practices to get it all together for my video. We don't launch the program until the being of September at best. This will only give me 1 month of teaching in a real class setting before I have to submit my tape. You will have a full 90 days. Go for it and HAVE FUN!!!!!!

They have all of the Les Mills programs including RPM but they also have Freestyle Cycling which is where I come in .
They have BodyPump, BodyFlex, BodyJam, BodyCombat, BodyAttack, and some others, I can't remember them all. The only one I'm interested in is BodyPump. I don't think I could handle teaching more than one class where I don't control the music :o. I'm so glad I have you to communicate regarding this whole thing. I'm thinking, however, that I should give it it's own thread instead of hi-jacking someone else's.
Back to the DCAC...(sorry )

I went to DCAC. Could only get into 4 spinning.
Intensity Guage with Luciana(forget last names) She was great. I loved the way she talked through the whole thing.
Yin Yang of music with Luciana again. I just love her.
Another one, I forget what it was called and I forget the presenters name as well. We went through all the energy zones.
The other one was spinning to rehab. Very interesting. Didn't ride as it was the last session of the weekend and I had a 9 - 12 hour car ride home and had a shower and didn't want to smell for the family.
I took some body bar (not les mills stuff) workshops(3 of them), they were good. A BOSU workshop, which was good. A ball workshop, which was good. And I took some step that was sooooooooooo boring. Unfortunately I didn't get to take Rob Glicks step workshop, because there was a body bar session at the same time I wanted to take, and Rob Glick will be at canfit. But he was probably the best step one. All the others were boring.
Regarding the video thing. I tape my classes, not for certification, but for another reason. All you have to do is set up the camera where you want it and just start recording right before class. It's that simple.
Anyways, just my 2 cents.

ff is referring to Luciana Marcial Vincion, and her delivery is so inspiring! She has a beautiful way of cueing and making the mind-body connection. I wish I had the handout from her Intensity Guage class, but I was in a Len Kravitz (who is amazing as well!) lecture.
The other MDA presenters were Scott Schlesinger (great Fire & Ice class) and Michael Ferrante (loved Train like an Ironman).
Missed ya there Abby! I've been so busy I haven't had much forum time lately.

OK, here's two sets of handouts, Luciana's and Michael Ferrente's. Scott Schlesinger didn't have any. If he did, then I was seriously lacking in caffeine! :D
