Awesome story!
There are also groups that take donated bikes, fix them up and send them to third world countries for cheap transportation. I cringe when I see bikes out for trash pickup that are still good - especially when it could be put to good use and not contribute to landfills.

I think Satan hijacked our sweet little puppy!
Spent the past week trying to log some training miles, and the remaining waking hours trying to keep Molly out of DW's flower gardens. Our back yard now looks like a medium security prison with multiple layers of fencing angled to prevent climbing. I was SOOOOO close to being authorized to go to the next level, which included electricity... Today hopefully will be day 3 with the gardens Molly free. :)

Sounds like a rough week. There's always medication, for the pup or DW or both.

Meds for DW = Blue Moon Belgian Wheat (and an afternoon nap on weekends)
Meds for Molly....tried sprinkling some holy water around the flower gardens, so not sure if that's working or the 4 foot fences are doing the trick...

I always liked that old Saturday Night skit with Puppy Uppers and Doggie Downers.

It's the Kanji symbol for strength http://www.japanese-name-translation.com/site/kanji/strength.gif with a cross in the middle of the two lines. Very cool!

Awesome - you'll have to post a pic once the ink has settled in (provided it's in a public photographical location).
I actually had someone in the gym a couple weeks ago who was able to read my tattoo - he confirmed it's meaning, which is a good feeling. I'd hate to think that I have the symbols for undying perseverence / unbending will and have the first person who can read Kanji say that it actually says that I'm a chronic bedwetter or something like that... :o

Hilarious!
Everyone kept saying, "Shannon make sure he does the symbol exactly the way your design looks, he might make it read you like monkeys."

...who can read Kanji say that it actually says that I'm a chronic bedwetter...... or save the whales. Actually Kanji isn't a language, they are Chinese characters that the Japanese have incorporated into their language.

That explains everything! The guy at the gym explained to me what the symbols meant, and while we were talking he mentioned that he's from China. I thought that it was cool that the Kanji symbols meant the same thing in both Japanese and Chinese.

While the Japanese have adopted the Chinese characters, they've kept their pronunciation for the word.
The Japanese have three different written languages, including adopting some of the 5,000 Chinese characters, and when they write they combine all three.
