Don't know if you guys have heard, but Tailwind Sports has announced the end of its search for a sponser for Discovery and the end of the team as we know it. It is a sad day for me as I have been a big fan of USPS and Discovery for alot of years. I guess I will be rooting for Slipstream now. A new and upcoming American team but I believe it is only a wildcard in next years Tour.

Wow. No, I hadn't heard. Thanks for the heads up. I share in your sadness. I too have been a fan of USPS and Discovery for years. Sigh....:(

Let's hope that George is able to get past the politics that Kevin Livingston never could.

Anyway ... i can bear the thought of Discovery disbanding ... but i CANNOT bear the thought of Johan Bruyneel retiring ... now he, is absolutely a class act.

I think I read they need something like 47 million for 3 ys, so we've got some heavy duty saving to do!

What if we put a clause in their contract that they have to ride for a full year drug free before we have to pay them, then we could start an online campaign to get people to donate to have an internet forum sponsored pro team!

Ummmm, decent idea. But there's still the little matter of $47MM.

47M people world wide on the internet, each donating $1 to an internet team (some may even give more) ... we may even have enough that we could have a picnic with the team and get to meet them. Maybe even get to see them race in real life!

I like the way you think Liz, the eternal optimist, I really respect that.

Okay, let's start taking donations, we can use my bank account as a hold place until we get enough money to start a separate account. :D

Agreed! Impressive sponsor list, though - maybe they'll bling up their look a bit by next spring :)
