Hi everyone! I'm brand new on the forum...Monica1 is my teacher/spinning mentor. She is such a great instructor and she inspires me every time i get on that bike!
I'm the gal who just got certified and will be teaching some of her classes when she's away in Germany. Yes, you may have heard of my jitters and fears. I had a really good weekend mentally and know now that as soon as I'm on the bike everything will be alright! It's a matter of getting on the bike and telling myself I can do it, right? Luckily I'm an experienced rider! I can't imagine the nerves of someone getting certified and not really having put in the hours in the saddle. By the way, I'm Jill. I hope everyone has a great week.

Welcome Jill! There's lots to learn and you've got time to do it. I know it's tough, but try to relax and enjoy the process. You are so lucky to have Monica as a friend and mentor -- she truly cares and I know she is eager to see you shine. Have fun reading through old threads, I'm sure you'll find lots to hold your attention.

Jill,
Kathleen said what I was going to say about friends of Monica. I'll add you couldn't have a better mentor or friend in Monica. We expect to see you here as often as she is, but where she finds the time to have a life and spend time here, I'll never know. :D

Hi, Jill!!!! I'm so happy to see you here. I'm glad you're feeling better. When you're ready to spread your wings you're going to be awesome! I just know it! We'll take this a little slower than what was originally suggested to me (not by anyone here). I should have checked in with the people here before I ever even suggested anything to you. I'm sure it wouldn't have seemed so daunting, had I been equipped with more of a plan; and taking things a bit slower seems wise to me. There's a vast amount of inormation to be had on this forum. I know your little girls keep you busy but when you can sneak away for a little bit, hop on the forum and peek around. There are a lot of incredibly knowledgable people here. Their knowledge comes with an abundance of good humor and humility. Enjoy!

Monica

Yes welcome. I believe your first class is the most well documented class in internet history. The Today Show, Extra, and Oprah are vying to air it live.

Just get on the bike and do whatever your instincts tell you to do and if you suck the first time, just about everyone does. Years later, you'll probably still suck on occasion, so just try to remember it's just a cycle class, not a referendum on anything that actually matters.

Sit...stand...slow...fast...play some tunes..try not to talk too much. Get paid.

Hi Jill! Thanks for stepping up and introducing yourself. It's great to have you here. And as all of the others have said, you couldn't ask for a more wonderful person to be your mentor (and your friend).

An instructor's very first class is a little daunting. But once you get up there and prove to yourself that you can do it, it gets easier. As your confidence in yourself builds, the jitters will become less and less. Have faith in yourself and practice practice practice your profiles.

Folks just want to get in there and work (and have fun). If you think of it that way, you'll be just fine.

Again, very happy you are here! We've got a wonderful group of people on this forum, and now we've got another one (YOU!).

Welcome!

Thank you everyone for the warm welcome...Cannondale guy you crack me up! I'll be back as often as possible. It's Monica's birthday today and her spin class threw her a little party this morning. Was really fun. Monica's sister is a great cook and made us all "Quirky Cake".

Again, thanks for responding to my introduction! Love it.

Promise me one thing. If you have a bad moment, or class ,or member , or songlist, etc. you never quit. I knew someone that after a couple of her first bad experiences she quit. Like AC said we all have them especially at the early stages.
