I am not a instructor, I ride indoors approximately 6-8 Hours a week and am a addicted cardioholic. I don't lift a single weight, Its a spin bike, my road bike or a swiss ball...yeah I work abs, probably, overwork em.
I supply music for several instructors in several clubs scattered around, never to two instructors from the same club. I maintain approximately 5000 songs, playlists and profiles. My "clients" covet the music I gift them, and tend not to share with their in-club instructor peers to maintain some exclusivity.
I have built and sold, two very large message boards, one industry specific to another industry, and one very broad based. So I am always on the lookout for new boards to frequent. But alas, no interest in building anymore...too much work!
One comment I would offer, is that there seems to be no real "mission statement" for these boards. If I knew that this was a forum for Indoor Cycling Instructors, I would step back and just lurk! But since I couldnt find it, I'm axein!

Lewis, Welcome to the fourm. We take all kinds here! Instructors, former instructors, riders and lurkers alike. Please feel free to chime in when as you like. We might not always agree but most tend to do it nicely. Enjoy your time here.

Welcome Lewis! The fabulous thing about this site is that all are welcome here. And a non-instructor's perspective is always useful. If it's just instructors, we run the risk of drinking our own bathwater (so to speak!).
Enjoy!

Lewis thanks for stepping up to the plate to introduce yourself and WELCOME!
Sounds like you have been busy--building and selling two message boards--which ones? I'd love to take a peek....That's a tough job--I'd love to see them and congrats on your success!
Also sounds like you are really into building music and playlists--check out the profiles and music section here---please feel free to post some of your music as we love to share.
This forum was mainly built to talk about IDC but it's since expanded to talk about whatever floats your boat. We have an incredible group here and it looks like it just got better with you joining up. Thanks... Enjoy....

We take all kinds here! Including Steve and myself, you why wouldn't we welcome you? Just as long as you don't drink the bathwater (ew, that's gross) and you don't have to drink the Kool-Aid, either. By all means welcome.

My favorite music genre changes with my mood and activity.
Trance, rock and mixes make up a lot of my favorite IDC tracks, but its not uncommon to see cuts from Barry White, Jean-Michel Jarre, Genesis and current pop.
I currently hail from the northeast, but during the dot.com boom days I was back and forth to Sin City every other week.

Welcome to our little corner of cyberspace. As far as a mission statement...I guess this board sort of ebbs & flows. It started as an indoor cycling forum, and that's what brought us together, but as most of us have become friends, it has morphed into a space to chat about anything. I think that's inevitable unless we attract new people who ask cycling questions and we get back to topic. Which would be a good thing. With your experience with message boards, is it unusual for them to morph from their original origins?

No boards lack the propensity to going OT, but boards vary as to their tolerance in allowing threads to wander. I've seen many boards start with the ubiquitous OT forums in place go mainstream, only to delete them when advertising kicks in - :grin:yeah:grin: - because they were deemed inappropriate.
Thats a lot of comma's for 7 am:roll:
