If you go under the Edit menu in iTunes, at the bottom is an option called "View Options." If select that option you get a list of all the categories of information attached to a song file. If you click the button "Date Added" you get a column to sort, by date, when each song was added to your library.

In the left column is an icon, under the Music Store, called Purchased. All the songs you purchase from the iTunes store are in this permanent "playlist." Click on that icon and then you can use the date added column to sort your purchased music by date.

I don't have iTunes on this PC, so I'm going from memory here. But if you look at where you see Title, Artist, Album Artist, Genre along the top of your library, if you right click there, you can add "Date Added" (or something similar to that) as a column, and then once you add that column, you can sort them all by clicking on that once or twice to either do ascending or descending. This works on the library, playlists, Recently Added, Recently Purchased, etc.
