I was telling Meggie about this one and I think he thought I was pulling his leg. Can you imagine?

What will they think of next? Imagine how many mistakes are made by people's inability to precisely control the mouse with all that movement? (OK...that's my management perspective coming through... )

I suppose I could see watching a DVD while I was jogging, but I don't think anyone could realistic workout AND work on a laptop at the same time. At least not and do a good job at either.

When I walk on a treadmill, I know I can't even read a book or magazine because of my eyes moving up and down from walking. It makes me nauseous.:o Can't imagine trying to read or type while walking.
I've been raving about this idea since I read about someone at NIH who has this setup. You walk v. slowly (not at workout pace) and it just burns those extra few calories every day. Guy at NIH said he never gets sleepy after lunch anymore and he has more energy. My DH has seriously been considering it.
FWIW, we are doing a study now where we have a cruder version of that (a wooden shelf we put on the tmill) so that subjects can take a cognitive test (using a mouse) while walking.
In theory it makes sense, but I just know I'd get engrossed in the latest i-c post and totally forget to keep walking.

Think about it Pink - if you forgot to keep walking, you'd end up far from the IC post and couldn't read it!
This is an absolutely fabulous idea. Sitting is the root of all evil when it comes to the human body. Especially sitting for 8 hours straight. Now, I don't think many peoplle could do this for an 8 hr day, but you could certainly build up to several hours without much stress.
I've actually set up my laptop on my handlebars of my Spin bike for a 90-minute webinar that I was doing a few weeks ao. I was about at 65% MHR, a nice easy pace. Every now and then I had to enter a comment, so I had to stop pedaling.
Next time I want my DH to take a picture of me doing this! I have another one next week!

Actually, I'm close to having this issue sitting at my kitchen table!

I'm lucky I can operate my iPod while cycling indoors. I would need a sneezeshield (like they use at buffets in vegas) to keep the sweat off the keyboard....i could mount windshield wipers on that sucka!
I crack myself up sometimes.:D
