Help for the hopeless. Anyone up for the challenge?

When I click on the multi-quote button, it changes color, the "+" sign turns to a "-" but nothing else happens.

Then, click on the next one you want to multi-quote. Then hit the quote button if you have no others to add. And there it should be.. :pHelp for the hopeless. Anyone up for the challenge?

I don't know how to do this multi quote thingy and I'm feeling like a cave man. Steve, can you help me, too? Apparently Susan already knew way more than I do because I don't know what she means about the "+" and "-" signs. When I click on the multi quote button it just changes color, that's all. What do I do from that point? We need a smiley wearing a dunce cap.

This just proves that one of my favorite activities: pushing buttons and finding out what happens, has its uses. :D

Guess that's why I'm in science.

OK, I refuse to let this go as I am sure if I can be training ANYONE can be trained.:D

1. You are scrolling through a thread with 3 posts and you want to quote each of the three.

2. Go to the first one. In the lower right hand corner there are a few options (the first being "Quote"). The second one (a little icon thingy) is for "multiple quotes". CLICK IT (trust that something's happened even though there won't be any indication).

3. Scroll to the next post you want to quote and repeat #2 above (clicking on the little icon to the right of the word "Quote").

4. Scroll to the last post you want to include and hit the usual "Quote" button. Voila! When your response box comes up, you will see all of the quoted sections there. You can fiddle with them as you see fit now.

C'mon Sandy, show me yer stuff.

Lets see if this is right, but if it is ,what if I want to pick multiple quotes out of the same post but in different places of the same post

you can follow the format on your screen and type in the quotes etc like John was doing by hand..copy and paste sections etc.... or edit the post to show what you want instead of showing the whole thing. N'est-ce pas? Lets see if this is right, but if it is ,what if I want to pick multiple quotes out of the same post but in different places of the same post

Oh Ok didn't know he was doing it that way.

Yep, I left the details out when I said I was doing it manually, but Steve is right about how I was doing it. I'm used to older systems in which you HAD to put codes like QUOTE and /QUOTE in manually. So, it never dawned on me to see if functionality had been improved.

So...the next functionality improvement will be to multi-quote from a single message, like Sandy was asking about.
