Hi All:
Well after a dynamic conversation with my DW regarding the state of the economy and world peace, I booked my flights to WSSC a few minutes ago. $256 Phoenix to Ft Lauderdale...direct even!
I will be arriving on Thursday the 29th and departing on Monday the 2nd and would like to seek a roommate for Thur, Fri, Sat, Sun nights in order to economize a little. I do not snore.
I'm thinking it would be real handy to be at the IC to shower etc. What kind of rate does MDA get? Any ideas?
Looking forward to meeting many of you and learning so much more.
:) PS
Patrick, that's wonderful! You will have a fantastic time. I pulled out last year's catalog and the MDA rate for the IC was $165--which also guarantees a parking spot in the lobby. I can't believe that pretty soon we'll be picking out classes and making plans to meet up!

I think I'm going to save a few extra pennies this year for the "special people" floor. I wanna get the Pink treatment! :D

And what is the special people floor?
BTW, SpinBob volunteered to do Thursday through Saturday night...now all I need is a Sunday roomie. Thanks, Bob! :) PS

It was well worth it for us. Actually there are 2 different things.
First, you can join some kind of 'gold club' or something like that. It costs $150 a year BUT for that price, you get a coupon for a free night (which we used in Miami), so that already saves you a few bucks. There are other benefits but that was the main draw for me. One of the things is you check-in at the concierge floor so you don't have to wait at the front desk. And I think they upgrade your room free of charge if there's one available at check-in.
Second is the Concierge Floors. They cost an additional $50 (I think). For that, you have access to the concierge reception area where they serve breakfast, snacks off & on all day, open bar & appetizers before dinner, water, soda coffee all day & night.
We loved jumping in and grabbing breakfast & having the ability to grab fruit, water or whatever during the day, between sessions. Mr. P liked the open bar .
Just remember these are 2 different things. T & Samuri Jack thought by joining the gold thingy (don't remember the proper name), they got access to the conceirge floor -- they didn't.
