I am driving home from the gym this morning, it's 7:05 am, it's 17 degrees, and there are about a couple of inches of hard-pack snow on the unplowed side street on which I'm travelling. I'm reflecting on the HIT class I attended, congratulating myself for another 4:40 am up-and-out-of-the-house-self-disciplined-beginning-to-my-day when all of a sudden, I'm snapped out of my revery....

A girl, maybe 14 years old, is heading towards me with ski goggles, alpine racing helmet, wearing a heavy yellow book back...

and riding her unicycle to school. She smiles and waves.

Now THAT's bada$$.

I saw two teenage girls ripping it up on a skateboard. I stopped next to them rolled my window down and said, "ya'll are awesome!" They just had the biggest smile on their face.
