I called and asked about the online reg and the person said it would be up in January, so I faxed in my registration form a few minutes ago. He said I would be the first one.

I chose:

LT Field Test
Hit the Switchbacks
Latin American Fire
Resist-A-Ball Boot Camp

Saturday:

Killer Cues
Moving Mountains
10 Essentials of a Great Spinning Program
Tour De France

Sunday:

Brazilian Energy Ride
Pedal Stroke Drills
The Need For Speed
Fire 'n' Ice

I know it's a lot of rides, but I'll be in top shape after ramping up for the Ragnar Relay Mar 1 and the Whiskey Row Marathon May 3. Besides, my DW said I had to be too tired to go out at night so I wouldn't get into trouble.

:) PS

I'm not going to room with you, if you're not planning on having fun. :D Or if you're laying in bed moaning because you're too sore. ;) The your DW that I'll keep you out of trouble.

Patrick, I'm ready to fax mine in also. Just to clarify, you can only 'reserve' a spot in 4 sessions per day. So if you requested more than 4 a day, you should probably contact MDA and let them know your 4 first-choices.

You can attend the other sessions on standby. Even if the lectures/workshops are full, you can sit on the floor. But if you want to ride, you need to make sure there's a bike so you need to reserve those sessions. I tend to not ride, preferring to sit to the side and take notes, so rides are never an issue for me either.

That's a good catch Pink. When you register online, the system only lets you pick 4 per day.

Kelly,

If you've never taken Jeff's workshop, be sure to get in. Better yet, the maintainence person at your club should be there... Your bikes will last and last like the Energizer Bunny if his guidelines are followed.

Ditto to what Danielle said about Jeff's workshop. The 4 Hour Pre Conference class that he's giving on Thursday is definitely worth every penny. This will be your one chance to step up and be proactive and ultimately put an end to all the members constantly whining about the poor condition of the bikes at your club.

I'll also throw my props at Jeff's workshop. I strongly recommend it for both the folks who maintain the bikes at their club and for instructors who want to be able to keep a bike on the floor vs turning away a rider. Jeff has alot of tips and shortcuts to help you save: time, energy, and band aids. If you're not going to attend; at least buy his tech manuals!

I have chosen my sessions for the WSSC. I'm certain I'll end up changing a few but some are solid choices, such as

JFK's Exercise Physiology 1 and 2,
Jennifer Sage's Moving Mountains,
Josh Taylor's Thursday night ride,
Jennifer Sage's The Secret Ride,
The Brazillian Energy Ride,
Writing Skills... Marketing Impact,
The "It" Instructor,
and Mixmeister, Become A Master.

Some of these sessions are geared toward Personal Trainers and I'm currently working (but not as hard as I should be) on studying for the exam. I thought it would be nice to start chewing on some info that I can use in my newest endeavor.

Have I told ya'll lately, I can't wait till June!

Pick the ones that are the absolute most important to you. If you're waffling back and forth between a couple, you can usually change your choices at a later date; assuming, of course, that what you change your mind to hasn't been "sold out". That's what I did; the one's that I know are an absolute must, and the ones I'm not for sure, for sure. Ya' know what I mean?

I'm a complete idiot. My daughter's graduating from high school on Friday, May 30th. I got my dates mixed up, I swore she was graduating the Friday before the WSSC weekend. Like I said, I'm a complete idiot.

Obviously, I will be at my daughter's graduation. Immediately after, she will be whisked away by her friends for a night full of fun and I will begin a 3 1/2 hour drive to Miami so I can still do Saturday and Sunday.

I'm disappointed that I will be missing Josh Taylor's ride again but there's always next year. My daughter will only graduate from high school once. My son graduated last year and it was the weekend before the WSSC, hence the confusion.

Anyway, it may work out better for me this way because I might be able to ride with the sisters from my class that say they are going and want to share a room. We can take my mini van and share the cost of parking as well. They weren't planning on going until Friday night either. So... obviously I won't be able to have dinner with anyone on Wednesday night, bummer; but again, there's always next year. :)

Yeah, you know my daughter had the nerve to say that I would rather be at the WSSC than at her graduation! All because when I realized she was graduating that Friday night instead of the Friday before I said, "Oh sh!t! That's the same weekend as the WSSC." Of course I was disappointed to realize I had already booked the weekend, planned it all in my head, etc... I just had to switch gears. I told her that I wouldn't want to be anywhere other than at her graduation. DUH! Come on kid, give me a break! So anyway, the dramas over; I managed to convince her when I reminded her that her dad and I are allowing her to go to New York with her boy friend and a group of friends for a graduation present (a decision that was difficult for my husband to swallow, and that's putting it mildly. I really had to go to bat for her on that one).

Sympathizing Monica. When my oldest graduated 2 years ago, my husband was planning his yearly motorcycling weekend in Laconia. I screwed her graduation date up, and told him it was the following weekend only to realize when all plans had been made it was for the very same weekend.Well, he went on a Thursday by motorcycle, flew home from Vermont, took limo to the high school, stayed for literally 45 mins to see her receive her diploma, limo back to the airport and bike his way back to New Hampshire. Whew!

Man, that made me tired just reading it! My situation seems trivial in comparison. I'm just grateful that I get to have my cake and eat it too. This really may be divine intervention. I can see a lot of good coming from it. Me no have no money. I could get out a lot cheaper this way, especially if the lovely sisters from my class come with me. That's a three way split! :)

You know I thought of you the minute this all went down. I remembered this was why you wouldn't be attending. I also thought of NJSpin, who isn't going because he's a teacher and the end of school carp always seems to get in his way of attending. I know that graduation days differ from county to county, state to state, but you would think these things would have been a clue that I should take a gander at the school calandar. Monica, may I now drink what you were suppose to drink on Wednesday? :p

Can't hurt to ask!
No worries we'll make up for it Sat night girlfriend.

Oh, and Bob, I insist that if there is any wine spilling going on that I be involved. I really appreciate you holding that off until my arrival. I just have to borrow a shirt from someone when I get there.:DI'll pack an extra one that you can borrow.

Feel free, but I won't take the blame for the hangover on Thursday. I've been known to drink my fair share, and sometimes somebody elses.;) I've been completely dry since I came home from Germany. I had to, I drank a disgusting amount while I was on holiday... every day but one if I remember correctly. It's just so darn good there, the beer the wine, everything. My husband, who doesn't drink at all, asked me if I was planning on stopping such behavior when we got home. I think maybe he was a little concerned. :D Now, mind you, I never got drunk... okay, I only got drunk once. I do believe the five pounds I brought back on my rear end was all due to beer, Bavarian pretzels and wine. If I do eventually move there I will have to modify my ways, a person can't live like they're on holiday.... can they?

You're the best! But there's no need to pack an extra one, I'm just going to borrow your WSSC shirt. That's staying with tradition.

Technically I wear an extra small, but you'd better get me a large to be on the safe side.:grin:

I'm trying to figure out if you're trying to be cute or if you just don't remember me from last year's WSSC. If you get me an XS I'll find a use for it. Let's see, a night shirt for my four year old, or maybe a polishing rag for the rare occasion that I clean my minivan.

Maybe you better make it an XL, it's that time of year again and those evil girl scouts are, once again, camping outside of the grocery store peddling their rubba duckin' Thin Mints!

I guess I should have added that winking smilie, of course I remember you from WSSC, I've got photos of you from Miami on my computer. I was trying to be cute. :p

I'll get back to the real topic, okay? I've got two roomies for the IC! They're waiting for me on Friday until my lovely daughter collects her diploma so we can drive up together. We're sharing hotel and parking costs so it's divied up into thirds, making it much more affordable. The classes that were the most important to me (except, of course, Josh Taylor's ride) all happened to be on Saturday and Sunday so it's truly beginning to feel like divine intervention. These girls are so much fun, too. It's going to be my first slumber party in years! I'm completely psyched!

The original topic is there, look closely; close enough, right?:)
