Here's a tip:

Don't tuck you iPod into your bike shorts and then forget it there and then go to the toilet, pull down your bike shorts and get a submerged iPod. It does not like to pretend to be a #2.

Damn that sucks! I hope it wasn't brand new. Look on the bright side, now you can upgrade, no?

And the good news is:

After blasting it several times with an air compresser the thing started to work again, albeit with some artifacts in the screen now, but WTH, it still works.

It will probably wait until the middle of my class today to go back to an inanimate #2.

...albeit with some artifacts in the screen now...

Hmmm...not sure I wanna know what those artifacts are. :o That reminds me of a story of a friend of mine who dropped his key chain into the toilet at an over-crowded nightclub one night. Looking into the disgusting toilet he pondered whether it was worth it to reach in and search for the key chain. I can't even finish the story...

Seriously though, I'm glad it's working. Water is the giver of life, but it can just as easily destroy. Maybe your iPod was a cat in another life...

Wouldn't this make a great commercial to show the durability of the iPod? :p

Luckily, unlike JohnNYC, dear friend's situation, the bowl was clean and at home and grabbed it quicker than a fly on, well you know...

Now the screen background looks like a snowfall a la one of those shakeable snow scenes. Very festive, but luckily still ledgible, as this unit is only 60 days old. My first one died on the way to the gym one day right before a class...CD backups are no joke!

And until next time, keep your shorts on!

My brother had a similar instance with his cell phone in the bathroom on a plane. The phone somehow flipped out prior to the start of business and his dilemma was to try to retreive it or not.

Not was the correct choice.

The former director of our Spin program dropped the mic in the pot when she was rushing for a quick stop before class. Thankfully, it couldn't be revived.

It worked today flawlessly througout my class at lunch (only because it knew that I had made a CD backup).

When you say "former" director of you Spin program, was this their undoing?

LOL, no. She stepped down on her own accord.

Um, I think that counts as a Snaflete move, n'est pas?
