Unfortunately, they should have tipped me off and changed the title to "I Am DVD..wait until then". I read reviews before going and thought it might have potential.

This movie actually bored me in parts. The premise, from a great old Charleton Heston movie, "The Omega Man", is really good. A lone intelligent man struggles to survive in a world turned upside down and restart the human race. The opening parts are interesting in how they set up the potential end of humanity, then it just gets dopey. Will Smith manages to make the "man's best friend" thing between a guy and his dog and turn it into a bad Lifetime Network love story. You start caring more about the rabid zombies...they were better actors.

If you're a Dad and want to take your kids under 13, they might like it. Adults who expect something like a plot, acting, and and characters you invest some emotion in, will think this is 2 hours of watching a video game.

Against my better judgement, went to see this with the family. I walked out an hour into it and waited for them in the lobby. Watching the characters walking around the multiplex was much more interesting but only slightly less scary.

Man! I was actually looking forward to it. Thanks for the tip off.

Sounds like lots of poor souls were duped into seeing this and making it the largest ever December opening movie. I'll wait for it on DVD and go reread the book.

I'd go into some of the dopey scenes and examples, but some may actually want to view it. I'm totally disappointed. When The Omega Man makes a turn on a cable channel, I usually TiVo it. I thought if you put some good special effects and an updated story line, it's a can't miss. Well...it missed.

I would definitely go to the double feature:

Omega Man and Soylent Green

...two of my favorites with CH!
