hey guys

I am currently training a client who is going to be doing a series of time trials starting in April until September. I am a spin instructor and a personal trainer as well and was wondering if you guys could recommend a good time trial book that gives strength training exercises and programs for the weight room, and a periodazation schedule for bike training as well. Thanks in advance for your help and I wish you all a happy and healthy holiday and new year. rgds, Spunkee

Here are some suggestions. But because I rely on alot of different sources for my information I suggest you review these before you buy to see if they are what you are looking for.
Serious Cycling 2nd Ed (Ed Burke)
Training Tips For Cyclists And Triathletes (Carmichael Training Systems)
Performance Cycling (David Morris)
Maximum Performance For Cyclists (Michael Ross MD)
Training Plans For Multisport Athletes 2nd Ed (Gale Bernhardt)

And don't forget about ......
Mental Training For Peak Performance (Steven Ungerleider)

thank you for your recommendations - I do own The cyclists training bible by Joe Friel -2nd edition - which is a great book and now there is also a 3rd edition that came out in 2004 - anyone know if there is any benefit to buying that one - any big changes or updates?

I'd also include Joe Fiel's "The Cyclists Training Bible". The overall book is based on periodization but offers good suggestions when races are stacked and how to recover between them.

Don't know about you guys but I found "The Cyclists Training Bible" a difficult read until I did the pre-session at WSSC and got on Friel's frequency.
