OK guys, it's been a while since I have imported anything into itunes....however it appears I do not know how or have forgotten to import a cd into itunes. (or maybe my computer is just stupid) :p
So here's the problem. I have a new itunes account on a different computer and am trying to import all my cd's that I've gotten from cd trees. Well I put the disc in, go to file, add folder to library, click on my computer, then I see the cd that is in my drive so I click on that and it gets my songs into itunes while the disc is in but as soon as I take the disc out none of the songs play because it cannot be located. It is only a problem with the mp3 formats. Can anyone tell me where I'm going wrong? Thanks!!

Copy the disk to your hard drive in a folder and then import the folder in to iTunes...

Moonie ..
open Itunes,
go to Edit, Preferences ...
click on the Advanced tab
so that it autmatically imports CD;s make sure the first drop down box : on CD insert, says what you want it to do: "ask to import CD," "import CD" or "import CD and Eject"

Don't forget to change the edit/preferences/advanced/importing tab to import in mp3 format, you'll be glad you did.

Then do a three point stand on your head and flip to warrior 3 pose finish with a downward facing dog and bark into standing tree pose!
That gets um every time :D

Ha! still didn't work. I don't know what is wrong with it. I followed the itunes suggestions as well and the songs still don't won't play when I remove the cd. The songs appear in the window with a gray check mark, but the computer never saves them. I can convert each song to mp3 and then it stay's but isn't there an easier way than to convert each song?

It has to import them Moonie! And it should convert them as it imports them. Select them all and right click and go to Convert to MP3. They will all be in your master file then. OOOH this is not working for me
Why is it not converting while it's adding them to the library? Seriously, I did not have to convert each of them before, it did it automatically.
