Workshop at our facility

Well, happy to report the Profile Designs and Heart Rate Games workshop at our gym presented by Sherri Crilly was very informative and well presented.Sherri is a wonderful person. Unhappily reporting the poor attendence on our instructors part. 4 instructors from our place showed up. Since I pushed to have workshops hosted at our place, making it more convenient for our instructors to have continuing ed I was hoping it would be an incentive. I guess not. The certification the day before was packed however. How does your gym handle instuctors that are not up to date on certs and if they make a workshop mandatory do they then have to pay for it or a percentage of it?

Great to hear that Sherri did a great job. She is due down our end of the state for certification on Friday and Contra. on Sunday. I am no taking the CE as I am still not allowed to get on a bike for 3 more weeks. Not that I am ready for it. If we offer CE's at our place we get the MDA discount as host site only. If we sign an exclusive contract to only teach at or own facilities in the area we get $100.00 a year for CE courses and a 2% bonus at years end for each class we taught during the year. It is worth it to some instructors. How does your gym handle instuctors that are not up to date on certs and if they make a workshop mandatory do they then have to pay for it or a percentage of it?At the places where I've worked, it's the instructor's responsibility to keep their cert up to date. If their cert lapses, they have a couple months grace period to make it current, if not they are suspended until they can show a valid cert. I've never work somewhere that made a CE mandatory, but if they did host a CE workshop, we got the host discount.
