A workshop on Spin Core is coming to Thorndale, PA and I was thinking about taking it. I don't have a "home" right now but thought it might make me more marketable if I could teach something other than Spinning.
Has anyone got this cert or has taken a class? Thanks!

Sara, this is not a certification but a CE workshop. I teach this class once a week and love it. I am also a GF instructor and PT so it was not anything really new for me, the particpants love it. I focus on strengthening and stretching (after the ride) the stabilizers used in cycling, including abdominals, low back and shoulder girdle. I use stability balls, BOSU, medicine balls, and their own body weight. I believe this 4 hr course will touch on the basic anatomy of the core and also biomechanics of core training.
Have fun!

Kelly is right.... this is a cont. ed course for Spinning instructors ( HOPEFULLY with a background in pilates, yoga or core training) that want to teach a combination of Spinning and Core.
The problem with this WS is, you could have 10 people attending that have been teaching pilates and yoga for over 20 years, and then have someone with absolutely NO background whatsoever in core training...
As a director, I believe whoever is teaching a Spin/Core class should be well versed in both.

Ok, that's what I was looking for. Whether or not it was in my best interested to do that or just get certified in pilates.
Thanks!
