iTunes upgrade

What is the scoop on upgrading iTunes? I have 7.0 version and saw a thread about problems with upgrading to 7.6. I need to upgrade to get songs. I usually do not use iTunes to purchase songs but tried earlier and a window came up requiring me to update. If I upgrade where can I get 7.2 or a version that will not have problems like some of you have had?

The problem is that the software that converts Apple's protected music files to mp3 files doesn't work with the newest version of iTunes. Apple has just started selling unprotected music files for slightly more money per song, so the solution is to upgrade and buy those songs.

You may still be able to find version of 7.2 if you google it.
