One thing about the entire show...I'm totally blown away by Alicia Keys.

I don't know if I'd ever bother with tunes for Spinning or not...but this is one talented woman. She's gonna be on my Ipod right now.

Didn't watch the whole show (had to bail when Aretha Franklyn started screaming) but the Grammys up tilll then were really good.

Whoa...you're dissing Aretha? And the Gospel part of the Grammys is always the best..I got nothing like this in my synagogue. If they'd sing like that I'd actually go more often.

That would give me reason to not go to church!! Yes I'm dissing heart-attack-on-the-way-Aretha!

Come on, now. I was scared she's pass out, but I thought the gospel segment rocked the house.

I could have lived without Kanye's acceptance speech.

The woman practically invented soul singing (Hence the title "Queen of Soul")...you're worried about her weight?

What's next...Pavoratti was too fat too? Ella Fitzgerald got too heavy? Vince Gill's looking a little chubby too.

Thin might be in but fat's where it's at musically.

Where o where is Bill Pierce........;)

Alicia Keys is very talented but she looked like a pigeon prancing around stage. I like it when she just sits at the piano and plays.

...and then I felt a pull over to Innercycling and what do I find? Britspin dissing Kanye.

Britspin, you must be crazier than the morons who picked Herbie Hancock's River: The Joni Letters over Kanye's Graduation. Who even heard of that album? Let's see, Graduation has 4 hit singles already and River: The Joni Letters has probably only been heard by Joni Mitchell and her family. While Herbie's and Lang Lang's performance of Rhapsody in Blue was mildly amusing, Kanye and Daft Punk rocked the house. Even in collabos, Kanye kicked Herbie Hancock's ass - Lang Lang versus Daft Punk? OK, I'll admit that Hey Mama was a little maudlin. But, when he stopped the orchestra playing in the background while he dedicated his award to Donda, it was pure bravado, as only Kanye can do it. I haven't seen if there are any Kanye temper tantrums posted on youtube yet after he was robbed of the Best Album award by Herbie Hancock, but I'm checking.

Shannon, I thought Alicia Keys looked fantastic when she was sitting behind the piano. She has really leaned out and looked beautiful. But, when she got up to dance - WHOAA! Sit back down girl. And, was the 10 seconds that John Mayer spent with her a complete waste of his time and talent? While Sandy is dissing on Aretha's weight, can someone tell me who was the person that swallowed Tine Turner? If Beyonce decides to hang it up from music, she may have a future in the NFL. Did you see how solid she looked below the waist?

Gotta get back to that other place so I can insult pregnant chicks doing Baby profiles and look for someone named SpinMILF.

Seems Aretha has a problem with Beyonce.

Seems Aretha has a problem with Beyonce.

I don't know why. Aretha is more of a nose tackle and Beyonce definitely linebacker material.

Pink, I've been thinking of moving over. I'm getting kind of bored with that other place and the boredom comes out in my sarcastic responses. One person posted the same question about getting riders to slow their cadence five different times and I responded with a smart ass reply about what the record is for number of posts on the same subject. I also compared a pregnant woman's Baby theme profile to inflicting the same pain as labor on her riders who were forced to listen to it.

I don't really have the time to post on both boards and Innercycling already has one acerbic alto cocker, so I'm not sure how much value I'd add. I have enjoyed a lot of the discussions in the Profiles section thay you've had recently.

So you can be lured? Just promise to add a profile every once in a while and be as sarcastic as you'd like. :)

Oh Lord, I agree with AC again - twice in one evening. Egad!

Dissin' Aretha???? No way. Nope. The woman's got pipes. And did you see the woman singing "Let It Be" from "Across the Universe"?

And FWIW . . . I loved Tina and Beyonce' together. Tina's what. . . 68? And criticizing Beyonce's weight?? Silly.

No one's mentioned Amy Winehouse. So whadja think? I like her. A little strange, but a talent.

My husband stood there watching her and said, "you know, I just can't figure her out."

Amy Winehouse is unique and fun to listen too. The entire album is really good. I just wonder how long she'll be alive. She seems to be a time bomb.

There's something about soul music coming from the UK that sounds so compelling. The Committments film...The Average White Band...it's been a while since that gap was filled.

As far as agreeing with me, I've posted a few thousand times here in 4+ years. Let me know which ones are wrong.

She looks unwell. . . and seems to be surrounded by turmoil. Hope she comes out on top of it all; her stuff is really good.

AC, I hate to admit it . . . really . . . but I guess it's true. I've agreed with you more than once. I just don't like to admit it openly. I don't know what came over me.

Guess you're kinda growing on me . . .

I knew I could pull you out of the shadows! When someone posts that there a MILF and then they don't post a pic, well it makes you wonder. Glad your posting over here.

Amy Winehouse is a crack head with nice vocals. The tabloids say she's getting her life together, and I'll agree I don't think she'll have longevity with the lifestyle she and her incarcerated husband lead. It's a sad but often true story of the young and talented.
