Beatport March Tree

Excellent music selections on Beatport.

No Audio discs

So..anyone interested in a Tree that goes like this...

1. We all put a request list together of songs. E-mail them to me.
2. We all buy an equal amount of them...shared cost. We buy $10-12 each...and assign the list.
3. You're in for all the selections...no editing someone's request list...you trust.
4. Copy your $10-12 worth of songs and send out.

Guys...I'm passing because I haven't even used the songs I have (and I can't figure how you all did). and 10 songs per person is a little extravagent.

That's a huge selection on Beatport.com and it adds up quickly.You will have received around 70 files after you get everything and even if you used half of what you got, it's about 4 hours of music. I don't know how many cd's you make a month but what's the hurry? Supplement with a few Itunes, a few gomusic.ru songs, some existing things...kind of what I'd teach my kids about stretching their allowance.:grin:

Bob, Steve, or I can walk you through it if your still interested. It's really just a process of transfering files and renaming them. I was where you were two months ago.

Since I'm new to this, I have a couple of quick questions.

What type of disc should we burn our music to??
(I thought someone mentioned a MP3 Disc???)

What is the best packaging for mailing the CD's to others?

Mark, Staples sells CD envelopes. They're about 4bucks for 6, so a couple of packets should do you right.

The files should be burned as data files, this is what retains the song, artist, etc., info. I learnt from the first round :redface:. They can then be copied to whatever drive you have your music library.

Do you know the file extension?? I've never burned as a data file.

For now just check out Beatport and set up an account and see what you like. Then pm or e-mail me the tunes you like, and we can go from there..no worries.

It did that for me a few times and I don't really know what it means either. The only thing I can figure is it's for DJ's or upgrades? I just went to a different song/artist and it didn't say that. I know it is frustrating.

How do you tweak a playlist? I start, then end up with two of the same songs from the original playlist. Really I stopped counting playlists and caring about changing things up about three months ago. I have about 4 classes that I have been using lately and ususally they revolve around 3 hills. THis is mostly because I have been busy. The music changes with my mood and latest taste in tunes. No timing to worry about or coordinating with song breaks, it is nice.

I am getting ready to ditch most of my playlists from 2yrs ago--I am not there anymore.
