Very touching. This story is representative of so much of the heartache of that time in our history. You're right --we should never forget.

I was in the Anne Frank house last April and it was absolutely astounding how little space they had for so many people. I'd re-read her diary and a few other biographical accounts of the others before I went and I just cannot believe how long they all stayed in there before they were turned in. Yes, I cried more than once, it is very emotional to be there.

I realized it's so important for places like her house and the museum in DC to remind us of what happened, so exactly that it will never happen again!

My son's project for his bar mitzvah was Holocaust education. He volunteered at a local Holocaust museum and worked to raise money and awareness for their education programs. It can be very easy to want to forget the unpleasant and horrifying chapters of human history. Thanks for keeping it a live Mike.
